I’m at the Astros game. Four Japanese guys sat down next to us. I shared the good news that it was dollar dog night, we saw a Yordan Alvarez grand slam, they saw the train in action, and I attempted to explain the phenomenon that is tarps off, which mystifies them. Call me a cultural ambassador.
First glove finished from the pile is, of course, the one requiring the least lace: Wilson A2280 Nelson Fox. I’ll probably give this one last little condition and buff before handing it back to its owner. Full clean, condition, and relace, along with an extra layer of leather in the palm.
Lace has been ordered. Several palm inserts have been planned with initial cardboard prototypes. Four out of eight baths have been completed.

1967 Wilson A2000 arrived this evening, which will put the kibosh on my glove acquisitions for a while. Picked this up for a scant $45 shipped, thanks to a real poor listing job by the eBay seller.
Ope, another glove in the pile. Ran into someone at the coffee shop who asked me to redo this 1960s Wilson A2280 Nelson Fox from his childhood. “Maybe you can tell me if it’s worth it? I think it’s from the 80s.” This was a fun surprise. He wants chestnut lace.
Finally got around to doing an inventory on my lace here so I know what else I need to order. Oh and I picked up another glove (a cool Mizuno MTS-1 single post), and there’s another on the way (a 1967 Wilson A2000), and a teammate asked about getting his redone. So three more on the pile.
I am at the ballpark with the homies watching the Miz demolish my team and it is a miserable experience, but I have to respect the man all the same. He’s a legit freak and the Brewers have played great defense on everything that’s found wood today. I hate it.
