Here in Europe we have the MG Cyberster. Chinese EV convertible. Here in the UK I own an MG EV. They’re good value and excellent quality.
Meanwhile in the U.K. we have lovely Chinese EVs like this. My MG4. My 4th EV, it’s brilliant. With discounts £26k new. Top trim level.
The stupidity of fossil fuels in USA will be found out when other economy’s are running their countries with electricity from free renewable fuel, driving inexpensive cars that are cheap to run. It will end in a less competitive economy and lower standard of living in the USA. UK grid as I post.
Those pesky wind turbines. They’re only generating 45.2% or our electricity this morning with free fuel. The sun is rising in the sky so solar will add to that during the day. Filthy polluting gas is only 11.3%. Ed Milliband as chancellor will make sure transition to renewables gets investment.
In the UK fleet and business sales make up about 60%. This figure is slightly misleading because it includes cars leased on Salary Sacrifice schemes with employers which are privately used cars.
The USA and UK are very different in size and roads. A 400 mile journey here is a 10 to 15 hour journey crossing most of the country. You’d pass hundreds of rapid chargers. Sadly, your government doesn’t want an electric future. Here’s a picture of the chargers within 2 miles of my home.
Tories announce this on a day that over 70% of our supply is renewable. Only 8% gas which, unfortunately, sets the price for our electricity because it’s the most expensive.
Listening to old vinyl this morning. Original 1978 copy of Tom Robinson Band, Power in the darkness. Powerful lyrics as relevant today’s as when I bought this in 1978, especially the title track. Looking forward to seeing @tomrobinson.com and his band on stage at Wickham Festival in August.
EV sales in Q1 grew by over 40% so a growth in sales of 3.5% isn’t following the market. Effectively a big drop in sales from where they should be. SMMT data.
Sitting eating lunch here on the south coast. Suddenly a flash of lightning and thunder that vibrates my chair. Then hailstones cover the ground like snow. Now the 🌞 has come out. Weather is crazy.
Globally EV growth isn’t slowing. UK sales are growing rapidly, 25% November 2024, 30% December 2024 (SMMT). There’s not been a year in the last decade when sales haven’t grown and the curve is exponential.
Christmas Day has passed. There’s still cheese to eat like this “Not for EU” French Brie. A bit of Brexit irony to end the year.
Trying to deactivate my X account today. Haven’t used it for a few weeks and don’t miss the cesspit of the worst people on social media. However, when I try to deactivate my account I get this error. Tried many times and checked my password works by logging in. Is Musk trying to stop the exodus?
October has been an interesting month for new car sales. SMMT figures show BEV as the only fuel type with growing sales. Only petrol cars total sales were more than EVs. Although petrol car sales showed a drop in sales of over 12,000 cars. We may have reached the tipping point in EV adoption.
Sunny skies last year at Great South Run start in Southsea, Portsmouth. Been looking forward to running again this year, it’s been cancelled due to the storm. Last 2 miles along the seafront would’ve been tough with 50 mile an hour gusts from The Solent. Disappointing, looking forward to next year.
