I had the best afternoon doing the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done, with a few friends and new-to-me friends. We painted D&D miniatures. I’m terrible, and I would like to present to you the nightmare fuel that is my bard, Thistle.
You can’t really see it well but there’s one on the left and there’s one in the back where the apple tree used to be. They gotta go. One is infringing on the garden beds and the other is going out of control. And there’s a third growing through my deck.
I got 2 of these from Temu and they’re fantastic. Absolutely perfect for hummus and pita chips or veggies, or any dip really.
Perhaps someone smarter than me can explain this portion of my Halifax water bill to me… Outstanding balance due immediately: $0.00 Interest on outstanding balance: $4.07. There was nothing owing from the previous bill. Why am I getting interest charges? Anyone know?
I liked the gelocity ones but then I tried the Uniball Jetstream RT 0.7mm. I’m left-handed and it glides smoothly and I rarely end up with ink smudges!
It’s been a shit time, and unfortunately, food is a coping mechanism for me. I’ve been focusing on comfort foods. This morning’s breakfast is something I’ve loved since I was a small child, strawberries and cream.
Went grocery shopping today. Got fresh strawberries x2, some yogurt, Bubly water, burger buns and burgers. Went to M&M and got some single serve meals (on for $4.99), and some chicken fingers. Also got 2 Bravette steaks (2 per pack) for 12.99. 2 steaks for about $6.50 per is a good deal for me!
This is like the 2nd time in a short while that I’ve been Monkey’s Paw’d.

@suzannerent.bsky.social I love that Merlin app. The house sparrow is unlikely but the vireo was legit! New to me bird! I couldn’t see it but I could hear it. Project today to try to see it! Note: (forgot to post originally, but good update. Went outside and heard it again!! Now just to see it.
This is a lovely little lunch. Red Leicester cheese, Triscuits wheat crackers, halved cherry toms with pepper, and some yummy olives from Pete’s. This nibbly type of lunch is the absolute best.
Trigger: Spider. This fucking Shelob is next to a framed 8x10 photo, and she’s not even the biggest frigger that’s been here.
I still have the small roll plates, and one medium plate, all the mugs, platters, serving bowls, and teapot.
I actually made supper tonight. Stir fry with cooked sliced chicken, carrots, celery, spring onions, red pepper, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sweet potato glass noodles. It was amazing.
I learned this today, and so shall you. The longest confirmed tornado path was in Kentucky on Dec 10, 2021. The track of the EF4 (almost an EF5 holy shit) was 266km long. To put that in perspective, that’s an EF4 tornado THE ENTIRE WAY from Halifax to the Cape Breton Causeway.

I got this book, and it's helping a LOT. She talks about the 4 types of trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) and to know your two main responses so you can help fight the 'grief grizzly.' Mine are flight, and freeze.
