two copies left at @pilsencommbooks.bsky.social if you are in chi & want to support a worker-owned cooperative along with your fave autistic zen truncle💚💚
had to wait for it to be back in stock, but it’s so worth it! FRIEND OF GARAK t-shirt by @reforest-kelley.bsky.social who managed to convey the exact twinkle in andy robinson’s eye 😻
everybody’s reading it, @lizbethmyles.bsky.social! popping it toward the top of my TBR.
ready for some photos? here’s a few b&w film shots from earlier this season. further specifics in the alt text.
nah, it’s not just you, pretty umbrella. it IS too much right now, & has been for a long time. we’re all torn apart by circumstances, in one way or another.
i knew what i was getting into, but i had no idea what i was getting into…
i try to honor the folks whose work gives me courage, & for a while now that has included @jamiebgall.co.uk , whose pin badges are prominent in my (huge! ungovernable!) collection. these below aren’t the whole story; i buy them partly to give away. thank you, jamie!🌈🔭🧪
planted this wild yam about 5 years ago. just saw that it’s traveling up the hose to the roof garden, perhaps egged on by the boston ivy up the sides of the building & garage.
home & showered, so the new ink isn’t all AAAAAAA IT’S 950 DEGREES OUT HERE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? it’s a variant cernunnos with leaf/fins & a little ivy language on the tendrilly hair (& horn tips for a bit of cheeky fun), loosely based on a stone carving. leaf/fin detail on right.
when sonny was still a kid, r. made a windowsill ledge for him. it’s somewhat too small now, especially in this heat when he spreads out like a puddle in his sleep.
i have a bunch of these left over from my adventures in oral surgery the past couple years. they are great for slipping into a pocket to help mitigate dangerous heat. i also do the farmer trick i learned from my dad, rolling up a line of ice cubes in a bandanna & tying it around my neck.
just a reminder that humor, like politics, is a collaborative effort
while we’re bestowing honors…i think this title should go to you, @4sylvestermccoy.bsky.social
i don’t use or take “clown” as an insult, largely because for me clowning is a kind of spiritual practice. i’m slowly trying to articulate how & why that is…it’s not easy, often because of the weight of pejorative meanings against which my experience/practice must push. anyway—
sonny bids us all a gargoyly good morning from the top of the grow-tent.
i don't usually share individual artworks or poems on social, for various reasons. for text-only poems, it's just not the way i work--my focus is not on individual poems. but for visual/collage/erasures, i'm trying to do so more often just to get people used to this sort of thing from me. so--1/3:
found in the garden while sowing collards before the rain. must be part of that “mysterious sequins of events” we keep hearing about.
the alarm i felt at the damage (& the sadness of the tree’s death too) was comforted slightly by discovering that someone left a little anarchist pebble on franklin (rosemont)’s grave. thank you, whoever you are!💚🏴
we went to forest home this morning to see the haymarket martyrs memorial (& friends) & discovered that this ailing maple had come down in the storms! it narrowly missed many graves including emma’s, but damaged, moved or crushed other headstones.
