#WITmonth 2026 book 5: Cathedrals by Claudia Piñeiro, translated by Frances Riddle and published by @charcopress.com. Oh my goodness. What a ride. Crime, religion, family drama, this book has it all, and we’re masterfully led through it by this incredible writer/translator duo.

#WITmonth 2026 book 4: Elena Knows by Claudia Piñeiro, translated by Frances Riddle. A re-read of one of my favourite contemporary novels by one of my favourite contemporary writers for a book club. Just as astounding as the first read and now incredibly hyped for Cathedrals, which is up next!

#WITmonth 2026 book 1: Bury Your Dead by Ana Paula Maia, translated by Padma Viswanathan. Short but definitely not sweet. Beautiful prose juxtaposed with roadkill, shouldn’t work but really does. Packs more into 115 pages than novels three times its size. Recommended!
