A box truck pulled into the unprotected Bedford Avenue bike lane on my ride to work this morning. That's how I got into my crash on Bedford and Lafayette in 2021, but that time, the driver sped along before stopping short. That block is protected now. This one... not so much.
love riding to work or the grocery store and getting to wonder if today is the day i get killed on bedford
also seen on today's commute: folding stepstool covering a license plate on a sprinter van parked blocking the bus stop on Worth St.
guy on his phone driving up bedford ave this morning with a covered plate, stickers for various fire depts and PDs on the rear window, and a mess of placards on the front dash :)
I’m in South Williamsburg for @nyc.streetsblog.org where a child was hit and killed by the driver of a school bus this morning. Last Friday, three kids were hit and injured by car drivers within hours of one another.
home sick and can't make it to this robin pecknold special acoustic set tonight :( trying to sell my ticket in the orchestra for $50 OBO!
tomorrow is my favorite night of the year: the tenth annual seder that my friends (and now me as well!) host for ~120 people hoping that the 8 quart containers + tupperware of charoset i made is enough
New high score of *22* vehicles illegally double-parked in the bike lane on Bedford Avenue on Tuesday evening (6pm). @mayor.nyc.gov @cmrestler.bsky.social @chiosse.bsky.social do something before someone is killed.
half of the G is down this morning, meaning that commuters can either take the shuttle bus, or ride a bike to north brooklyn up an unprotected, dangerous Bedford Avenue here’s a DSNY bin in the unprotected bike lane at Willoughby
spotted *SEVEN* cars/trucks parked in the UN-protected bedford avenue bike lane between willoughby and myrtle. the gridlock traffic was backed up all the way to flushing/myrtle and east to marcy/myrtle seems like protected bike lanes don't cause traffic — double parking does
my official statement in response to being called "dumb and annoying, a "talentless biased hack," and "my precious snowflake"

🚨 CHAPPELL ROAN STUNS ON A CLASSIC CITI BIKE IN NEW MUSIC VIDEO ABOUT TRANSIT IN NYC 🚨
I went to Canal and Bowery off the Manhattan Bridge to take photos of the crash site for work on Sunday morning, and found this banged-up white Infiniti instead of the Chevy Malibu that I'd seen pictures of in other news reports. It was a separate crash, in the exact same place.
