Super exciting mail day! I got my one-shot adventure from Dungeon in a Box and @outridercreative.bsky.social It has beautiful art and maps and even wooden minis! I can’t wait to dive into this and give one of my #dnd groups a taste of Perils & Princesses #ttrpg

I really enjoyed this book. Rabid by Bill Wasik and Monica Murphy is educational and entertaining. It was well researched and well written. I particularly liked the chapter on Pasteur as well as the different interpretations of vampires and werewolves and their connections to rabies! #booksky 📚💙

This week I’m going to be running a Kobolds Ate My Baby one shot by @9thlevelgames.bsky.social So of course I needed a kobold dice tower. Found this awesome one on Etsy from the remarkable Plot Twist SD shop. Painted the eyes and teeth to provide a little more character! #ttrpg

Just finished Brigands and Breadknives, 3rd in the Legends and Lattes series, by @travisbaldree.bsky.social It was a little less cozy than the previous two, but it might be my favorite. I really liked the characters and the story development, and a fun little twist at the end. Great job!

Another great show from the adults only All Puppet Players. It is my third unique show from them (plus seeing Die Hard three times). They never disappoint! Definitely one of the hidden gems in Phoenix.

I finished it! The Crystal Halo is a great fantasy novel by a couple of my college friends. Fast paced and well written. Takes the common “chosen one” trope and flips it upside down. It is self-published and currently only available in print and e-reader from Amazon: a.co/d/0jkQbq9O #BookSky 📚💙🪐

Just finished Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. I really wanted to enjoy it more. It was good but I thought it would be so much better. It started strong but got a little flat as it progressed. Although I will say it was very prescient. Let’s hope she wrong about the rest! #BookSky 💙📚🪐

Yay! I got my shipment from one of my favorite creators: @jpcoovert.bsky.social I took advantage of his annual sale to pick up a few zines to help with my #dnd planning, and he sent some free goodies as well including graph paper, a sticker and a postcard dungeon! Can’t wait to level up my game!

I had a great time at the Rural STEM Learning Summit this week. I gave a presentation on our efforts to integrate wildlife into K-12 education with a focus on wildlife crossing structures. I also attended some great sessions and networked with amazing educators!

Bummed to hear about the Grand Canyon’s North Rim Lodge burning down last night. I was lucky enough to visit a few times. Sad to see a little piece of history gone.
