After a bit of a hiatus, Alex and Chuck are back! Check out the latest chapter of The Hollows, my queer fantasy mystery novel, on Patreon, or catch up on the story so far. More new chapters are on the way!
The views for my runs have changed a lot since April. Those waters are high and churning. I’m sure that isn’t symbolic of anything. (First picture: river on my run yesterday, second picture: lake on a run back in April.)
There’s no sadist like the man who comes into the gym and puts a cooking show up on the big screen.
Excited to dig into @mattbaume.bsky.social’s book this weekend. As @bookmarkobrien.bsky.social says: one available at your local bookstore, the other is in the works - watch this space!
I recently relocated and had to leave my favorite running trails behind. But at least I’ve found an impressive lake to run around now.
Huge news! I'm thrilled to announce that I have signed with Mark O'Brien at Azantian Literary Agency! I'll be working with Mark to find a home for a non-fiction book that I'm extremely passionate about. I can't wait for you to read it. Watch this space! @bookmarkobrien.bsky.social
Ah, the joys of walking trails in Georgia. Never have I stopped and backed up so quickly.
I don’t know what it is, but I find I keep coming back to this trail.
Some of us have busy mornings. Some of us just focus on being statuesque in the sun. Once again, Misty is using up the house’s entire quota of statuesque and leaving me with the busy. #catsofbluesky
When it comes to wrestling with the blank page, do you find a light mode blank page or a dark mode blank page more intimidating? #writingcommunity
One thing no one warned me about having a kid is how much time I’d spend making up additional lyrics to nursery rhymes I half remember.
It’s a beautiful day here in Georgia. But with this humidity, I need to move to one of those places where they say “yeah, but it’s a dry heat.” Not about this “wet heat” nonsense.
When last years plants seed new ones without being planted, it might not be truly cool, but I’d say it’s at least rad-ish.
A peaceful, elegant cat. One who definitely never yells in my face in the middle of the night and/or when I’ve just got the baby to take a nap.
I’ve been a bit quiet so far in 2024. In December, I had the pleasure of welcoming my first child. New work will be appearing on my Patreon very shortly. If you're a backer, you can catch up on The Hollows now. You can start reading for free: www.patreon.com/collection/1...
#BookFridays McCaffrey’s Dragonflight was the book that got me into both reading and writing. A young teenager, it inspired me to start creating my own worlds. It’s warm and comforting and opened my mind. What was your first influential book? #Dragonflight | #FaefyxWrites

#BookFridays This is cyberpunk at its best. Marge Piercy’s He, She, and It does everything that sci-fi should: warns about what is to come, and ties it to what has been. #HeSheAndIt | #MargePiercy | #ScienceFiction | #Cyberpunk | #FaefyxWrites
#BookFridays If you want a great introduction to Neil Gaiman, American Gods is the place to do it. And if you’re going to read it (you should), I recommend this copy - the “Author’s Preferred Text.” #AmericanGods | #NeilGaiman | #FaefyxWrites
Pratchett and Gaiman’s Good Omens collaboration gives a great view into the writing process. Gaiman has said “There were bits we were both convinced we had written, and bits we were both convinced that we hadn't.” #WritingCommunity #FaefyxWrites
It's a pricier option, but worth it for something you'll use every day. I went for the Razer Blackwidow V4. They're designed for gamers, and I've found that when it comes to products targeted at people who spend all day at a desk, gamers get the best ergonomic stuff. (Makes a nice clacky noise, too)

Sam Spade only ever came across a fake, but what’s this? Could I have the ACTUAL Maltese Falcon? (It’s a long story, but… technically, yes?) . . . #TheMalteseFalcon #ClassicDetective #NoirNovel #SamSpade #HardboiledFiction #DashiellHammett #CrimeFictionClassic #MysteryNovel #VintageCrime
Before I moved to America, I spent time in university reading classic American writings. Whether it’s Walt Whitman, Nathanial Hawthorne, or Ursula K. Le Guin, there’s something here for everyone. . . . #AmericanLiterature #WritingCommunity #BlueskyBooks #QueerLit #WritersOfBluesky #FaefyxWrites
This is some of the artwork on the case of the vintage harmonica a couple of friends very kindly gifted me. How vintage you ask? It says it was made in Germany… in the U.S. Zone. And, yes, I can (sort of) play it. #VintageHarmonica
While I tend to read more recent fiction that deals with the world we live in, it's always important to know where we came from. These are some great reference texts. . . . #EnglishLiterature #ClassicBooks #NortonAnthology #GeoffreyChaucer #WilliamShakespeare #JohnMilton
