This seems like a bad idea. Brown, blue, orange and purple trains will reduce in size during the off peak times. For some reason
Not to mention Washington Street, which is just surrounded by farm fields (and could easily have a lot of TOD slapped up)
Grayslake even has a whole second lot by track 2 that has been closed since the pandemic, it’s ripe for development.
I know it’s not the same but my goofy ass dog just… doesn’t eat sometimes.
Luckily, it looks like this bill is stalled. There’s a house equivalent that hasn’t moved since March, and this one has been sent back to assignments, which isn’t a good sign.
We need something better than a single tracked extension though, and something that actually ends near all the new housing that’s supposed to be going up near old orchard
Ah yes, -100% ridership on NCS during evenings. Famously doesn’t have evening service. The last train is at 6 pm.
Also I get Kensington is close but a superstation here between the Cardinal (and hopefully again the Hoosier state), Illini, Saluki, Blue Island Branch, Metra Electric Mainline, South Shore line, AND Red Line would’ve been a huge ridership gain!
