Matt Hawkins (fortninety)
@fortninety
journalist / curator / archivist / librarian has been called “the Harvey Pekar of video games” & "the MTA's one true nemesis" also runs @attractmode.bsky.social married to @mangalibrarian.bsky.social for more info: linktr.ee/fortninety
… Tho this one is my fave & might become my new profile background
So I posted the following on Twitter, Mastodon, and Threads as well AND OF COURSE the responses from that last place are EXACTLY as one would expect…
Yeah NYC has an awesome mayor, also its basketball team apparently is doing well (don’t follow sports but I hear tomorrow is a very big game), tho its mass transit still fucking sucks (nothing like waiting almost an hour for a bus that’s supposed to be every 15 min, then 3 show up at the same time)
The MTA’s brilliant fucking plan to improve bus service is resulting in the loss of the bus stop my disabled wife relies upon to get to & fro work Am trying to find the analysis by transport experts who say the plan will actually make things worse but we all know how useless web search has become…
And an old photo from an old tweet of the pair of comp tickets we got, issued by the apologetic manager who admitted that they have a problem with entitled/racist patrons For the record: the Metrograph shows some legit cool shit but the people you end up sitting next to can be absolute ghouls

Wake up babe, new Cat Magic Punks just dropped (see catmagicpunks.com/collections/...)
It’s the last day of 2025, aka the last day Mrs Fort90 & I can use Kana/Asuka as our profile pic on Peacock before WWE leaves the service (it’s my pal’s account; gonna be hard finding a replacement to contrast his family’s normie avatars)
Speaking of, via the Nazi app (someone here said I supported Nazis cuz I use Twitter), just found out @jackcalifano.bsky.social (who has no posts here, wonder why) who spent 9 months with/100+ rolls on Zohran will be selling 8x10 prints so you can "hang it on your wall like the boomers did with JFK"
If you asked @jay.bsky.team to define "Sexually Suggestive: Does not include nudity", $20 sez they'd have zero answer & are instead letting AI figure this shit out (yes Bluesky stans who think they are better than folks on Twitter; it's in use here too, it just doesn't have a dumb name like Grok)…
Political discourse on Bluesky: “Can’t stress enough how perfect of a day it is in NYC. A comfortable 65 degrees. No cloud in the sky. Most golden light you have ever seen. It’s like the city is on a soundstage. You would call it corny if you saw it in a movie.” Political discourse on Twitter:
Just wanted to give props to @unitof.com for being an Actual Archivist, despite the lack of a MSLIS, please refer to the image below And BTW/FYI to anyone who couldn't/didn't tune in last night, the plug was pulled a grant total of SIX TIMES, which I think is a record for a single broadcast?
This footage of the new Pixel 10 Fold exploding in the hands of JerryRigEverything (via @anxiousholly.bsky.social's Twitter; the full video is on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uS9...) is yet another reason why as I feel such a dumbass for previously recommending both the Pixel 6a & 7a... [1/7]
Like everyone else, I cannot stop thinking about, nor stop talking about, what will surely be 2025's movie of the year, without question… am talking about Crispin Glover's new movie of course, which has its world premiere one week from tonight, at @momanyc.bsky.social
I hate how Meta was the first company to go all in & give their app icons a liquid glass makeover, tho it’s also not surprising either (nor is them neglecting FB Messenger) Even Google has been showing restraint on that end (and no iOS 26 as my daily driver for the foreseeable future)
Just another friendly reminder that: - the MTA is raising fares very soon - this particular machine at my local stop was installed < 5 months ago - we’re 9+ months into congestion pricing, which has no doubt earned the city a fortune - tap to pay is still a bad idea due to security concerns
Was too busy at work to pay attention to today’s iPhone event, tho a pal did provide updates…
Strange as it sounds, but myself & others talked about our time during the lockdown with a certain degree of wistfulness; it's important to note that the key detail is how it allowed us to spend more time with our partners & thus strengthened said relationships, which was NOT the case for everyone)…
"Americans, every time this happens..." is a pitch perfect response to the Cracker Barrel logo re-design kerfuffle (via youtu.be/BTD4kLAujQI)
Despite Bluesky’s growing rep of zero sense of humor, it’s nice to know some folks know how to crack a joke (tho also @wario64.bsky.social is legit your one stop shopping for ALL the deals)
Greetings from AnimeNYC; highlight thus far has been while waiting in line in the bathroom and overhearing a custodial worker grumbling under his breath “Y’all can’t poop in the urinal, that’s just not right.”
This is precisely how you motivate folks to uninstall your app, which in turn leads them to completely forgetting about/not missing the associated service/platform as a whole
BTW/FYI, Cathode TV is currently playing Trick or Treat, which guest stars Ozzy (see www.cathodetv.com) Also another friendly reminder that their fundraiser is still going; help them reach their goal of $18K (see www.gofundme.com/f/cathode-ci...)
This is one of the many reasons why I gave $99 to Cathode TV's fundraiser (see gofundme.com/f/cathode-ci...), so tune in to find several of your own (see cathodetv.com)
Re: Mamdani's historic win, specifically all the discourse that has sprung up as to who should get the credit (naturally there are folks who DON'T think it's Zohran), this excerpt from today's Garbage Day email, entitled "If you're normal, people will vote for you actually", is worth sharing...
Cannot wait for that Post or Times article if Cuomo wins, provided enough New Yorkers are stupid enough to fall for all the b.s. propaganda that billionaire bootlicker/sex pest has been flooding airwaves/overstuffing mailboxes with, in particular: "Mamdani ultimately could not connect with voters"
Via @bakoon.bsky.social's stream the other night; trust & believe that I'll be reminding everyone tomorrow night (see www.wonderville.nyc/events/fort-...) one last time to NOT RANK CUOMO (as futile the effort might be, aka am afraid bakkooonn has indeed called it)
Found this in my neighborhood in Brooklyn, where braindead centrist libs parrot whatever propaganda (like lies re: Mamdani) is fed to them, just like the Trumpers they think they’re so superior to (but instead of Fox News, it’s from the New York Times); naturally it was gone two days later
