24 Habitat for Humanity built townhomes coming to the Clayton Early Childhood Development Campus. Neighbors are up in arms! Classic Nimby concerns.

Not including over packing a small area. These families are going to include multiple cars in their household. A garage under the unit will not cover all the extra space needed. We are already filling up the streets with vehicles.

3 stories is SIGNIFICANT.

Don’t forget, these newcomers won’t know the general rules of the neighborhood. We love our peaceful lives on Madison. Adding 50+ maybe even 100 people will uproot the safe quiet neighborhood we built together.

Within the Left and anarchism, there exists a kind of a green urbanist imaginary: walkable, dense neighbourhoods; green-energy-powered smart cities; accessible public transit; fruit trees lining the streets; cycling infrastructure; the perfect population size to benefit from supply/distribution efficiencies. Added a rubber sole to the sandals, the glue is still setting but it's a big improvement! Going to touch up the edges tomorrow with more glue. This is a process in learning. Next time I'll get a big jug of contact cement and use that.

This is not the case for Denver. Most of these roads in the high injury network are one way couplets. They are violently ill streets, unpleasant to be near. What might be correct for one city can be dead wrong in another city.

Denver DOTI truly hates anyone who isn't driving a car. For context, this is the only sidewalk crossing between two neighborhoods for over a mile in each direction due to train and highways.

I've started reading Butch is a Noun by @sbearbergman.bsky.social yesterday and I haven't been able to stop. It's such an incredible book!

My theory is that butch is a noun, a
gender all its own, something which
cannot always be described within the
confines of the bigendered pronoun
system we have now. In an attempt to
honor butches of whatever sex, whatever
pronoun they may personally prefer (and
my experience of butches is that they
may prefer either, both, these gender-
neutral ones, or, in some inventive cases,
may have made up their own), I have
chosen to use gender-neutral pronouns
when referring to butches-in-general in
this book. It feels much like butches do
to me, in that so many ways of gender all
combine and collide and get expressed,
all of which get divorced from their
traditional genders to come and shack up
with Butch.
