I adore this post from trainer @MichaelUlloaPT for so many reasons b/c I have witnessed it time and again--one can do all of the right things and it still isn't enough. Things happen. Take sensible care of yourself, be nice to others, and enjoy life because none of us gets out alive.
Akin to a #TVdinner staple that has nothing to do with Salisbury, UK, #salisburysteak is an early meat-centric, low veg #faddiet food from late 1800s in the US, long story; sound familiar?). Credit: @MadeInCanada on that *other* platform. See also: cbc.ca/radio/asitha... #foodhistory #meatdishes
My 1950 edition of the #BettyCrocker picture cookbook indeed features a cocktail (mocktail, really) on pg. 47 made from tomato and clam juice, which is then served hot. [Erm...not so sure about that last bit though.]
It's tiny, but I managed to grow a #MeyerLemon indoors at this latitude. waiting for the remaining two to ripen. I'll move the plant outside to the greenhouse (unheated as yet) once the danger of frost passes. It smells lovely, too.

What began as a worrisome crop of weeds that popped up at the beginning of summer turned out to be...#TOMATILLOS!! Cooking the dodgier ones down as I type this for use in soups, salsas, and stews. #accidentalgardening #foodstudies #foodhistory #Physalis
Second year of making #membrillo, or #quincepaste. Rather chuffed with the results, too. #foodhistory
I ran across this fabulous old postcard of a friend's family's restaurant from back in the day. I've been hearing about this part of #VancouverRestaurantHistory for so long, and it was great to run across a picture of the place. #foodhistory #dininghistory #ArmandosRestaurant

The trouble with maps like this is the tendency to oversimplify. Yet, it provides a basic overview and framework for exploring what you think should be added. #CanadianCuisine #foodhistory #foodstudies From @TasteAtlas

A senseless pressurised (NO2) #hollandaise mishap in the kitchen of the restaurant my son works in as a chef. D'oh. #cheflife
We are forever thankful we ended up in such an amazing neighbourhood over 20 years ago. Our neighbour up the road brought us this extraordinarily beautiful pear as a Lunar New Year gift, 'from my home country', he said. #Seollal

Before you start bleating about how '3.14 is actually Pi Day', that's based on how the US renders dates. We can declare our own #PieDay if we want to. #foodhistory #CanadianFoods #tourtiere #sweet #savoury

I still adore the bit of trivia in which @aardman's 'A Grand Day Out,' featuring #WallaceandGromit, is credited as returning #Wensleydale #cheese to popularity. From @NoContextBrits. #foodtrivia #foodhistory #popculture #TyrrelsCrisps
