Shortly after this article was published on Thursday, the 11th Circuit released to The Times a letter it had issued to Judge Ross a day earlier. In it, the chief judge informed her of a new inquiry into whether her earlier apology had been adequate. The letter said four of her former law clerks had reported that her apology did not comply with the committee’s order. Chief Judge Pryor requested that she respond in writing by Friday.

Here is a fn from the 11th Circuit recommending that the apology be sufficient to make clear she's apologizing for sexual misconduct without being unduly embarrassing.
