An important disclaimer to note is that Apollo was likely socialized at an early age and became a stray later on, as opposed to having been a feral cat, which are typically much harder to actually take in as pets.

Apollo's new favorite thing to do is wait for me to lay on the floor so that he can flop directly onto his side next to me for belly rubs, while we also lazily bap his toy back and forth between the two of us. 😺

So this guy's story is just absolutely bizarre. Turns out he already has a chip, but there's no registered owner attached to it, and the only info we have from the manufacturer is the record of it being sold to a now defunct pet store in NJ in *2013*. And he's clearly only like, 3-4 years old?

Apollo the cat is lying on the corner of a human bed, very much sleeping off the meds he'd received for the trip to the vet. He has a bandage on his hind leg from where they drew a little blood for testing, which I was told he was very good for.

Anyway I bought the wrong size cat stuff because I realized way too late that actually this absolute unit is a good couple significant figures larger than the average cat it turns out! So if any Denver-area locals need a size L litterbox and carrier for cheap/maybe free, hit me up. 😅

Gonna have to work up the courage to try a claw trimming today, because even though he doesn't seem interested in scratching stuff his default comfort response has been kneading dough, and I would like to try to have fewer holes in my clothes and my blankets and my me. 😰

Gonna try a slower, more deliberate strategy today, where I slowly close the door behind him as he comes in. I want to emphasize that he isn't meant to feel trapped in here, but also that time with me has to start being inside with door closed until he's ready to be let out again.
