I made a new friend yesterday evening because even my Sesame Street Spanish was enough to communicate in front of the dude asking her too-personal questions that if she didn’t feel safe when she was ready to leave the cocktail bar, I’d go with her and wait until Lyft arrived. Learn more languages!

This is my favorite kind of “free, you pick up post.” The site is for usable items in Omaha, about an hour from North Bend, but I don’t think geography is the reason these recliners won’t find a taker. Hope springs eternal. Probably like the springs in these seat cushions.

Giving
This is a bit far outside the city but I have a living room set (2 large chairs and a couch) in my parents house that needs to go before the remodel next week. Its nice but they were heavy smokers and had dogs and cats but have not lived in the house for a few months.
If anyone has a truck and/or trailer to get it with, its yours. Unfortunately a mouse chewed through the cord of the electric recliner so its just a chair unless you can fix it.
They will have to go into the construction dumpster otherwise bc I do not own a truck to take them to any donation places.

I spent the 1st hour of my 1st solo bikepacking jaunt at a shop for different gear /more food, the next hour loading & reloading the bike, &, once riding, the next 2 hours fretting over mountain lions. After fixing my 1st flat & letting myself relax & ride: deep joy. Cowgirl Trail 2017

Selfie grinning from the trail, sun filters through trees in a rare shady spot. I’m wearing a bandana & a tank top & my nose & cheeks are slightly sunburned.

From the shade, the Cowgirl Trail stretches off for miles into the sun, tall grass on either side & trees further back. A beautiful June sky is full of fat, puffy clouds. (Yes, it’s actually called The Cowboy Trail, but I renamed it.)

A very shallow & very wide river, the summer sunlight shows how clear the water is & how sandy the river bottom. A bike water bottle is visible in the foreground, chilling in the water (which was delightfully cool despite the midday heat).
There was a bridge to cross the river; I climbed down to stick my toes in it.

My favorite picture from this trek, it shows my heavily laden and inexpertly packed bike leaning against the sidewall of a sturdy wooden bridge. Trail I’ve already ridden stretches back toward the western sunset. Clouds scoop across the sky. I’m close enough to where I’ll stop for the night to take an extra moment in this beautiful spot.
