In Congress and at the ballot box, we fight for Palestinian freedom and human rights for all. Affiliated organization of @theimeu.bsky.social WEBINAR:
Thank you Senator @vanhollen.senate.gov for speaking out against integrating the US and Israeli militaries in the upcoming Pentagon bill - a measure that would reward Israel at a time when they are wrongfully detaining Palestinian American student Sama Safi under abusive conditions.
The ICJ has ruled that Israel is committing the crime of apartheid - a determination also reached by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem - and that all nations must end military funding to Israel immediately.
Palestinians experience this brutality, and worse, every day in the occupied West Bank. It is time to start holding Israel accountable by imposing a total arms embargo.
In just two years, support for Palestinian rights has skyrocketed from 39% up to 57% with older Democrats. 62% of all Democrats now say the US should be more supportive of Palestinian rights. The direction voters are headed is clear - and our elected officials need to listen.
Israeli President Herzog is cited in the active genocide case against Israel for justifying the slaughter of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Anyone “honored” to meet him has no business leading our country.
Thank you Rep McGarvey for becoming the 76th cosponsor of the Block The Bombs Act! After more than 1000 days of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, it is more important than ever to finally enforce US and international law and prevent Israel from using US-made weapons to massacre civilians.
Since March, Israel's illegal invasion and occupation of Lebanon has systematically undermined every chance for peace. Thousands of civilians have been killed and over a million have been forced from their homes, all with US support.
Israel’s genocidal leadership is proudly saying that they want to ethnically cleanse, occupy, and illegally annex Lebanese land. All of this is going on with the US government’s support. Congress can put a stop to it by passing Rashida Tlaib’s Lebanon War Powers Resolution tomorrow.
The US does not let any other country treat our citizens like this.
It turns out that Democratic voters don’t like it when an absurd amount of untraceable dark money is spent on defending genocide and apartheid. The only question is whether or not the Democratic Party’s leadership realizes this yet.
A monumental shift on Palestinian rights is underway - and it is transforming Democratic Party politics. It is time for party leadership to wake up and listen to their voters.
Today is Election Day in NYC, and Palestinian rights is on the ballot. Rep. Dan Goldman voted with Republicans to protect Netanyahu from arrest. His biggest donor? AIPAC. Our ad airing now and seen by over 1 million NYers ahead of Election Day says it’s time for NY-10 to reject Dan Goldman.
Every single day, Israel’s genocidal leaders proudly declare that they’ll undermine any path to peace by illegally occupying and bombing Lebanon. Trump got us into this useless war for Israel’s benefit and now Israeli leaders are desperately trying to keep us in it.
In both Gaza and Lebanon, we’ve seen that a ceasefire with Israel is meaningless as long as our government keeps supplying the weapons. We’ve seen that Trump’s words are meaningless as long as he keeps writing blank checks to the Israeli military.
The American people are tired of endless wars and tired of fighting the war against Iran for Israel’s benefit. Leaders across the Israeli political spectrum are demanding more war and more aggression. This goes way beyond Netanyahu. None of this is in the American people’s interests.
Because of a year of your hard work, pressure, and organizing, the Block The Bombs Act has reached 75 cosponsors, including 10 in the last 2 months.
Thank you Rep Stephen F. Lynch for cosponsoring the Block The Bombs Act! In one year, the Block The Bombs Act has reached 75 cosponsors in the House. Israel’s genocide in Gaza and their illegal invasion of Lebanon won’t come to an end until our government stops being complicit.
France banned the extremist Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering their country, joining countries like Spain, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile the US still invites internationally wanted war criminals like Smotrich, Ben Gvir and Netanyahu to come speak to Members of Congress.
Thank you Reps LaMonica Mclver and Jahana Hayes for cosponsoring the Block The Bombs Act! The bipartisan Block The Bombs Act now has 74 supporters in Congress. Israel's genocidal actions in Gaza and Lebanon will only end the United States stands up for human rights and cuts off these weapons.
If you did not know better, you would think that this headline is from yesterday. It’s from 1982. Time and time again, Israel has chosen to bomb its neighbors, illegally occupy more land, and undermine efforts to reach peace. It’s time for our leaders to wake up and see that Israel is not an ally
61% of New York voters say the current war with Iran benefits Israel more than the United States. Just 26% say the US benefits more.
A majority of New York State voters (51%) and vast majority of Democratic voters (70%) agree Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians. Sen. Schumer said earlier this year that one of his most important jobs as leader of the Senate Democratic caucus is to “fight for aid to Israel.”
Schumer is also deeply unpopular with New York voters, with a net favorability of -15. In comparison, Sen. Bernie Sanders has a net favorability of +15, New York City Zohran Mamdani has a net favorability of +7, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a net favorability of +3.
The poll conducted by @dataforprogress.org finds that 61% of New York State voters and 76% of Democrats support the resolution to block bombs, and 57% of voters overall including 71% of Democrats support the resolution to block bulldozers. Read more 🔽
In April, the US Senate voted on resolutions to block President Trump’s delivery of 2,000-pound bombs and bulldozers to Israel. 40 Senators – all Democrats – voted in favor. 7 Democrats voted with Republicans to keep weapons flowing, including New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
NEW POLL: New York State voters, especially Democrats, aren’t being represented by their senators.
Thank you Rep Massie for becoming the 72nd cosponsor of the Block The Bombe Act! Across the political spectrum, the majority of Americans want an end to weapons for Israel. It’s time for Congress to reflect public opinion. Tell your representative to sign on: blockthebombs.org
Thank you Rep. Menefee for cosponsoring the Block The Bombs Act! Israel’s acts of genocide & ethnic cleansing in Gaza & Lebanon will only come to an end if our leaders use America’s leverage, end the weapons shipments, & enforce US and international law. Tell your rep to sign on: blockthebombs.org
The House is expected to vote TOMORROW on Rep Tlaib’s resolution to end US complicity in Israel’s invasion and devastation of Lebanon. Israeli government leaders could not be more clear: This is a campaign of ethnic cleansing.
The Israeli army is moving deeper into Lebanon and destroying village after village as part of a campaign of ethnic cleansing and naked land grabs. A War Powers Resolution is being put to a vote this week by Rashida Tlaib to end American support for Israel’s war of aggression
