From last night! Can't get more up close and personal than this. The Grey are absolutely brilliant, as are Worn Out who also played.

The guitarist and bassist of atmospheric metal band The Grey mid-performance at Blondies, a very small venue with a dive bar aesthetic. They're both really really into the music, and the guitarist is basically right in front of me. You can just about see the drummer through the smoke machine haze.

There's a good FB group for this kind of info (is it fash: the musical) and there's lots in there on Ultha. They subscribe to the "Antideutsch" philosophy which is incredibly problematic and I'm so angry and disappointed that Vendetta works with them and with other anti-Palestinian bigots.

Ultha as a band and their drummer individually are also part of Artists Against Antisemitism. If you think they are “well meaning” then also know that their drummer also posted “I Stand With Israel” in the aftermath of October 7th, calls everyone who says that Israel is an apartheid state “an antisemite” and shares pro-Israel misinformation from muslimhaters on his Facebook.

She sounds totally awful but I don't think the suggestion is that she runs End Wokeness, just that she has liked their posts.

Most of the activity came in the days and weeks following the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, when the Goldman family was in Israel and forced to take shelter while there. In one instance, she liked a post from @EndWokeness that showed people holding a “Jews for Palestine” sign with the message, “Chickens for KFC.” She also liked posts suggesting that people supporting “Free Palestine” be sent to Gaza, to live under its rules.

Politics

Gelernter is a former national fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and senior fellow in Jewish thought at the Shalem Center. In 2003, he became a member of the National Council on the Arts.[22] Time magazine profiled Gelernter in 2016, describing him as a "stubbornly independent thinker. A conservative among mostly liberal Ivy League professors, a religious believer among the often disbelieving ranks of computer scientists..."[23]

Endorsing Donald Trump for president, in October 2016, Gelernter wrote an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal calling Hillary Clinton "as phony as a three-dollar bill", and saying that Barack Obama "has governed like a third-rate tyrant".[24][25] In his capacity as a member of the Trump transition team, Peter Thiel nominated Gelernter for the Science Advisor to the President position; Gelernter met with Trump in January 2017, but did not get the job.[26]

In 2018, he said that the idea that Trump is a racist is "absurd".[27] In October 2020 he joined in signing a letter stating: "Given his astonishing success in his first term, we believe that Donald Trump is the candidate most likely to foster the promise and prosperity of America."[28]

Gelernter has spoken out against women in the workforce, saying working mothers were harming their children and should stay at home.[14] Gelernter has also argued for the U.S. voting age to be raised, on the basis that 18-year-olds are not sufficiently mature.[29]

This time it is Zack Polanski’s insurgent Greens who stand to benefit. “A Reform win would be terrible,” said a sometime adviser to the leadership. “But a Green win would be existential.” Already imperilled by one unwinnable test of his electoral appeal in May, Starmer has chosen to contrive another in February.
