(he/him) Neurodivergent Social Democrat in Maine working to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive world. Economist by training, Spanish-English-American by birth, and antifascist by moral imperative. We must act now before it is too late.
#MEpolitics: I’ve spent my workday trying to suppress my rage at ICE, the Trump regime, and Susan Collins, who now can’t even be bothered to feign concern about the killings she has continually enabled. We must win back Congress, then remove, prosecute, and imprison every last member of the regime.
Especially when Mitch refuses to return my calls after our 20 minute in-depth chat earlier in the week after which he shared this photo of him hanging out with his buddies earlier that day.
#MEpolitics: The Maine Democratic Party has released their ‘Candidate Qualification Rules for the 2026 U.S. Senate Nominating Caucus’, which is the event at which the candidate to replace Graham Platner on the ballot will be selected.
#MEpoltiics: For those that may have missed it, Spencer Toth, Organising Director for the Maine Democratic Party, resigned in protest today (resignation letter below).
If we don’t oust this regime Trump’s narcissism, racism, and hateful idiocy will eventually kill us all.
Come visit us at the @mainepeople.bsky.social tent today in the Kids & Family area of the #BangorPrideFestival! We have a big canvas and paint markers for collective artwork, stickers and magnets, and rainbow art kit bags! Plus surveys, surveys, surveys! Who doesn’t love completing a survey!
You have passed the Elder Millennial Club entrance exam. You may now don our members only jacket, just pick a colour.
Screenshotted exerts from the 30 May 2026 New York Times article you shared. It appears Amy Gertner, Platner’s wife, told Genevieve McDonald (then Platner’s campaign political director) about the sexting during the campaign’s initial vetting process, and indicated the couple had worked through it.
And as a Spaniard, I feel especially beholden to say that Arteta’s setup and tactics tonight—and during the majority of their run to the Premier League title this season—were craven (and disgraceful), and I hope he abandons them next season, for the good of football generally.
If Henson’s analysis is accurate—and I think there is strong evidence it may be, as it fully aligns with the Trump regime’s MO—the regime is currently working to cleave all official information gathering and storage from mandated Fed agencies and move it under the sole control of the Executive.
There have been many instances as of late, but these from yesterday are fairly good examples of obvious nonsense from experts who should know better (and be more mindful of contributing to attempts to degrade discourse on Bluesky). Including captioned screenshots as they may be deleted later.
#MEpolitics: Thank you @shennabellows.bsky.social for the tickets to the @heartsofpine.bsky.social match tonight. My family had a lot of fun and it was great to chat with you about the most pressing issues facing Maine—and why progressive, forward-thinking policies are needed to address them.
#Maine: Do you live in the Bangor area? Do you play #MagictheGathering? Do you care about reducing the harms associated with substance use, poverty, and social inequality in our community? Then join us at the #MTG Commander Charity Tournament this Saturday at Northeast Collectibles from 12-6 PM!
#MEpolitics: Jared Golden, despite having absolutely no pragmatic political reason to do so, continues to vote in favour of regime-fawning nonsense like this, repeatedly showing he is a fascist sympathiser and enabler, looking to secure his future embraced by the tentacles of the Trump crime family.
Switzerland is the homeland of my partner (and now my son). I have so many great memories exploring my partner’s home town and canton, which actually led us to decide to have children. He is a Swiss citizen, like his mum, and will also hopefully eventually be a Spanish and British citizen.
No one knows when the markets will correct. And many major investment entities have a lot of cash sitting on the sidelines, which they could use to prolong the nonsensical upward trends we are seeing now. But no matter what the regime and talking heads claim, this trajectory is *unsustainable*.
#MEpolitics: Capacity crowd at the Bellows-Platner Town Hall in Old Town. Both are now taking questions from Mainers in attendance. I am told there is no live stream, but it is being recorded and video of the full event will be posted online this week.
FWIW, my partner and I (and several friends) will be there and I plan to ask questions regarding climate change mitigation and economic policy, if I am given the opportunity.
#MEpolitics: Mainers will be absolutely shocked—SHOCKED—to learn that Susan Collins’ vote didn’t affect the result…
As Justice Kagan states in her dissent, this decision by the fascist majority all but guts the Voting Rights Act, no matter the sterile and obfuscating the language they used to do so. We are in the midst of a White Nationalist coup being perpetrated by all three branches of the federal government.
#MEpolitics: Some have asked why I oppose data center dev in Maine and am so critical of Gov Mills’ veto of the limited moratorium passed by the state legislature. There are many reasons, including economic and environmental impacts. But among them is this: They really only benefit the oligarchs.
#MEpolitics: The billionaires funding the Super PAC backing Collins’ reelection is a who’s who of technofascist kleptoligarchs also supporting—and regularly bribing—the Trump regime. Particularly notable is Alex Karp, the CEO of Palantir, the company bent on taking over the US gov (and the world).
