Palaeolithic Archaeologist. Lover of games, hoarder of TTRPGS, drinker of tea. Unusual love of stone tools. Views my own. Jam then clotted cream—it’s the only way… Minis blog: RPG blog:
It’s nowhere near as good as the supurb paintjob by @voiceofkosh.bsky.social but I'm calling this wee chap done. He'll be joining my Five Leagues warband soon. Mini from @fenrisgames.com
Some exceptionally fast service from @fenrisgames.com - ordered yesterday, here this afternoon. Looking forward to getting some paint on him and finishing off this warband!
Got back from a busy couple of days soaking up some excellent research on the Palaeolithic down in London. Also managed to squeeze a trip to Orcs Nest in along the way, where I was pleasantly to find both of @irny.bsky.social’s horror scenario books, which I snapped up
Went to Drury Covent Garden for a spot of breakfast this morning while I’m down in London conferencing. Can recommend it for brunch - I’ve been before and had their bacon and fried egg brioche bun, but the eggs Benedict today was also good, and the coffee is excellent.
It’s been a thought couple of weeks, but I finally found the time and motivation to finish off these wonderful Nurgly-adjacent horrors from @fenrisgames.com Backdrop as always by @handiworkgames.bsky.social
Batrachian Bob and his buddies showed up the other day. Always great to have an @fenrisgames.com order drop through the door. My favourite is blob fish man…
Some British Museum archival correspondence suited to current weather affairs...
Lovely walk home from work yesterday. Shame it’s pissing it down this morning…
Time to relax with @themerrymushmen.bsky.social 's latest masterpiece that's just arrived...
Ran Dead of Night for the first time at our monthly RPG night in town. I've had it for probably like 15 years - one of the first indie horror games I picked up alongside stuff like Hot War in the early 2010s. It was a blast to run - just the right thing to pick me up mid week.
Definitely go if you visit again. They have the "Here Lives Happiness" willy, and a rather shocking piece of caprid-faun related shenanigans sculpture that is one of the highlights...
Knocked this little fella from @fenrisgames.com out this week. A fun one to paint...
Finally finished these off - they've been sat half finished for a few weeks but I finally dredged up the motivation to put the final highlights to them and get them based. Quite pleased with how they turned out in the end. Minis by Grey for Now. Backdrop as always by @handiworkgames.bsky.social
Brought home a new child at the weekend. I'll make sure to play with them every day...
I've recently started drinking Ueshima coffee and got hooked on their Fuji Mountain. But yesterday they were on sale, so I also picked up a bag of their house blend and boy oh boy is it good...
Bank Holiday weekend is being taken up with renovating the ensuite. But I did get to go to the new Waterstones at the shopping estate in Durham and spend a bunch of cash on new books and this adorable Lego impulse purchase...
Day off today and had a fantastic time knapping a The Great North Museum up in Newcastle. Got to see my favourite Megaleceros and made possible the best handaxe I've ever produced...
Finished off Super Nintendo by @mackeza.bsky.social yesterday. A brilliant, heartwarming exploration of Nintendo's history and design philosophy through the lens of some of their greatest games. One of my favourite books of the year. It took me back to halcyon days playing SNES with friends 1/3
@themerrymushmen.bsky.social coming through with more fantastic products... And Dungeon Inc. Is just over the horizon! Bounteous times!
I've hit a painting doldrums recently. I had a very productive spurt from January through February. Here's some figures from the last load I painted for a prospective Five Leagues from the Borderlands campaign (that I still haven't managed to actually start yet...). Backdrop from #handiworkgames
Finally got this to the paint table and really happy with how it turned out, given that it was a bit of a bugger to paint...
Last night's painting efforts. Got the base finished off this morning before work, but didn't have time to update the snap...
