Here's a page from the Castlevania NES game. Especially love the cheap markers look, you know the type that never blended evenly

It was colored with markers, not fancy ones, but rather the cheap ones we used as kids that easily left behind overlapping marks and never colored evenly. Makes the whole thing look charming and 1000000% miles away from AI.

The senior fits the gunslinging mold and is sometimes too aggressive for his own good, as evidenced by a 4.8% pickable pass rate that translated to a whopping 23 pickable balls last year. According to Opta data, he was fortunate to “only” throw 11 interceptions. That might seem contradictory with the well-thrown ball rate, but what it really says about Raynor is that he is either extremely sharp or downright destructive to his team’s chances.

Random pic from the National Archives- Naismith's first college basketball team in 1891. This is the first time I've seen the actual peach baskets on both sides of the men, wasn't expecting them to look like that

WR Omari Hayes, Iowa State. There are lots of proven QBs in this league, and the portal evidently brought lots of exciting receivers as well. Typically, anything above 2.0 yards per route is a good average; Hayes averaged 3.0 last season at Tulane. He averaged 13.2 yards per catch despite primarily running shorter routes, and he didn't suffer his first drop of the season until the American Conference title game.

Bob Horner, his early home run pace long cooled in Japan's Central League, has settled into mere-mortal status in the eyes of fans who earlier this season called him "the god of homers."

"It's basically just a season how," Horner, formerly of the Atlanta Braves, said from his Tokyo apartment. "Travel and play, travel and play."

After hitting six home runs in his first six games with the Tokyo based Yakult Swallos, Horner now only has 16 home runs in 43 games, and those numbers won't change for at least a week. Horner, often criticized for his injury proneness with the Braves, pulled a muscle in his back on Saturday while swining at a pitch and will be sidelined for 7 to 10 days, team officials said.

This is Horner's first injury of the season. But already gone was the early-season Japanese media ballyhoo speculating he would hit 100 home runs, obliterating Sadaharu Oh's single-season record of 55, due partly to the shorter fences in Japanese ballparks.

Horner, batting .321, is no longer among league leaders in any offensive categories. He is 9th in home runs. Two American players, Randy Bass and Rich Lancelloti, lead in homers with 24 and 23. Two other Americans, Carlos Ponce (19) and Warren Cromartie (18) - also have more.

Hiromitsu Ochiai, the Japanese slugger who vowed not to lose the triple crown to Bass this year but doubted he could outdo Horner, has 20 homers.

Last month, Horner said, he saw further evidence that no foreign player is going to be allowed to break an Oh record in Japan.

"Lancelloti had homered in seven straight games coming into a game against our team," Horner said. "The Japanese record, held by Oh, is eight straight games. Our pitchers walked Lancelloti four times in the game."

After his big start, Horner began to see ultra-cautious pitching and simply couldn't get anything to hit.

So I learned that Davidson College's football field had a rather large tree (On a hill!!!! With a staircase!!!!) in the endzone, as seen in this 1922 game Can see a very large version at Digital NC: lib.digitalnc.org/record/2210?...

1922 Davidson College football game photo facing the field from the middle of the endzone. There is a massive tree on a tiny hill in the endzone taking up a good chunk of it. The beginning of the hill starts roughly near the goal post and stretches towards the sideline, quick estimate is perhaps 30 feet across. There's even a little staircase of 5 steps up the hill. As was the practice in that era, the goalpost is on the end zone line, not at the back. Majority of players are seen through the goal post in the middle of a play that appears to be a drop kick. A ref wearing a white longsleeve shirt and dark pants is staring intently at the players. Behind the offensive players are two men wearing suits, not clear what they're doing there. A small crowd of people is standing all around the field.
