I'm personally a big fan of "naturalistic body/facial hair". Like, when a scaly has chest or arm hair made of actual scales. Avians with feather hairdos, etc. Most fish can have fins or maybe also scales, but I think sharks make the most sense with barbels or fringes, like wobbegong sharks.
