The sun broke through the clouds this afternoon, and so we pulled our garlic. My guy is holding half our harvest. We are pretty pleased with ourselves at the moment. 😁 #GarlicFromTheGarden
Fire update. Apparently, the lightning strike was near an old cutblock, so ground crews were able to start working the fire first thing this morning. The smoke has already been reduced and I am so grateful to wildfire fighters that put themselves at risk for all of us.
Well, shit. Officially the start of fire season here. I can see this fire from my front porch, but it is in an uninhabited area, across the lake from us. I really hope they put it out, but generally, they let fires like this burn themselves out when there is no risk to human life.😔
Well, most of the knitting is done! I have decided to wash and block before seaming the sides/knitting the ribbing around the neck and arms. Pleased with it so far. 😊 Pattern = Sundial Tee by Wool & Pine.
🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits #WIPWednesday I'm still beavering away on this top but getting close to seaming and finishing the neck and arm holes.
🧶 I finished these mittens a few days ago. My friend designed the pattern. I edited/test knit them for her. It was a fun knit & I learned the Vikkel Braid. I enjoy editing & testing knitting patterns. Maybe I will offer this as a service in the future when my life calms down a bit? #KnitSky
The bumble butts are really loving our sage plant at the moment. 🐝🪻 #Bumblebees #Gardening #Pollinators
🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits is all about World Wide Knit In Public Day. This year I am knitting in the hospital, while my husband gets dialysis. Although I am not with my knitting friends today, I am grateful for this life sustaining treatment & the wonderful care he receives. Pattern: Sundial Tee on Ravelry
#WIPWednesday A few projects on the go at the moment. Knitting and painting. #FlowerPainting #Knitting
🧶 #WIPWednesday #KnitSky Still plugging away at this top. I've had to stash dive as I'm not sure I will have enough of the mini skeins to finish it. Pattern is the Sundial Tee by Wool and Pine, available on Ravelry.
Our morning walks are very slow now, but Mitra still wants to go find some good sniffs in the woods. I fear we will have to say goodbye sometime soon. In the meantime, I am finding grace in being of service to this sweet, little soul that has given us so much unconditional joy. #DogsOfBluesky
Life is short. Pick some daisies for the table and use the fancy plates for breakfast. Small joys.
🧶 #WIPWednesday This set of variegated mini skeins may not have been the best choice for this project, but I'm going to continue because life is a bit too much lately. I just need to knit and not worry about it. #KnitSky
A new project is on the needles. I received these ten mini skeins of Koigu yarn for Christmas and have finally decided that the Sundial Tee by Wool and Pine is the perfect project. 🧶 #WIPWednesday #ShowMeYourKnits
🧶 #LightItUpMAL C'est fini! A very fun knit. Pattern by Samantha West can be found on Ravelry. Geometric Sunflower Mitts
🧶 One done and the second mitt is cast on. I'm so happy I chose this beautiful mitten as my #LightItUpMAL project. The pattern is by our awesome host @samantha-west.bsky.social and I can highly recommend it. The instructions are clear and the colourwork has a lovely rhythm to it. Link in comments.
This might be done. If not done, it's very close. Does that count for #FOFriday ? #FlowerArt Acrylic paint and pen on canvas. 2 ft x3 ft
#MakeItLightMAL #WIPWednesday I love colourwork and this is so much fun for me. Thank you Samantha!
🧶 #LightItUpMAL Look at me go. A cuff has appeared. Now to start the fun part. Colourwork!
🧶 #LightItUpMAL #Knitting This is great timing as I had just purchased one of @samantha-west.bsky.social patterns a few days ago. I dug through my stash and I think these will do nicely for the Geometric Sunflower Mitts. www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...
Happy May the Fourth! The day when I wear my favourite knitting t-shirt. 🧶 #KnitSky #MayTheFourthBeWithYou
#ShowMeYourKnits I don't have many purple knits for some reason, but here is a shawl I knit years ago in a plaid pattern that I made up as I went along. For #WIPWednesday I have a crochet baby blanket, also in purple, and I'm still working on my painting. Keep on, keepin' on my friends. 💜🧶🎨
🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits I'm a little late but, here is a cowl I knit a few years ago. It was part of an online class where we used a painting as inspiration for colours & patterns. I used The Large Blue Horses by Franz Marc as my inspiration, dyeing the yarn & designed the horse chart.
#WIPWednesdays 🎨I haven't been knitting as much lately, partly because I have been painting and I am loving it. Acrylic on canvas. 30 cm x 90 cm/2 ft x 3 ft.
I hear that people need to see more dogs on the feed. Here is Mitra from some years ago. She is very happy to be going anywhere, just as long as she is included.
