Canadian-Ukrainian comedy, family and animation screenwriter. Graphic novelist. Picture book author. ISA bio: Graphic novel:
If you look very closely at the Odyssey you'll see that it's nearly time.
Happy caturday from my special boy Ernie. ( His brother Bert is camera shy).
My awesome neighbors built me a rabbit proof fence for one of my vegetable gardens so I can enjoy salads without a month and a half of explosive diarrhea.
A break in the smoke (and heat) means a golden hour session in my writing shed.
On Thursdays I'm posting screen grabs or clips from the animated web series I'm making with my daughter. This is the scene where she gives the preschool students snakes instead of snacks because she misread the lesson plan. Everyone is screaming except Missy, who is fascinated.
On Wednesdays I post a page from our second (upcoming) graphic novel. @jaylutesbskysocial.bsky.social
Every Tuesday, I'm posting a 'Chapter' from my Mariah Carey Christmas time travel feature. This week, Chapter 5: Claire and Fatima go to Jurassic Park. archiveofourown.org/works/868361...
Whenever I gave notes to @rmoonhill.bsky.social in my writing group it was always 'This script reads more like a novel', so when his actual novel was published I knew it was going to be good. I was right, this book was amazing. 11/10 recommend. Ancient Egyptian Zombies!
Wonderful Christmastime: Bitter Rivals Paul McCartney and Mariah Carey must team up before another pop star records a Christmas hit that threatens their powers of immortality. #scriptsky #FirstPageFriday #FunPageFriday
The Ladybugs have been an evolution. Before they were an animated web series, they were a series of photographed wall calendars I made with my daughter, then a feature, then a graphic novel. The lore of these stuffed animals has consumed us for most of her childhood.
Absolutely pouring rain all day also means a break in the heat to use my writing shed.
On Thursdays I'm posting screen grabs or clips from the animated web series I'm making with my daughter. She forgot to put the legs on the bee in this scene. When I asked her about it, she said 'Car accidents are crazy man'.
This week's graphic novel page is so detailed that it's still being drawn, so I'm sharing an old favorite from our last graphic novel (all fellow teachers can relate I'm sure!)
Bringing back the Internet trend of baby mugging with this special little guy.
Despite calling myself a screenwriter, this is my first time watching this.

We bought this on DVD so we could rewatch the greatest Canadian movie of all time with our daughter on Father's Day.
Got another 5 on the Blacklist. Wasn't going to post, but I like this evaluation and I think my pilot about a neurodivergent family is definitely relevant.
17 years ago my husband painted murals for the baby we were expecting because I always wanted Punky Brewster's room. Today he's painting over them. I'll be in the corner sobbing at the end of an era.
Instead of attempting it as a feature, we've decided to continue filming my cruise mockumentary as a web series. Just signed on 2 actors this week to expand it!
Haven't posted a page from graphic novel #2 (in progress) for a while. Illustration by @jaylutesbskysocial.bsky.social
She made the squirrel while we were having coffee this morning and the dress this afternoon.
