Woke up this morning and looked out my window to see a Venus skyline. I've never seen the sky so yellow in my life... Definitely feels like waking up to a dystopian nightmare. Apparently caused by wildfire smoke combined with the heatwave. Air quality is bad. Stay indoors in Southern Ontario.

Very saddened by the news of Sam Neil's death. Most people will remember him from his role as Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park. But I'll always remember him most for his role as Dr. Weir in Event Horizon. Sam's work in film enriched so many lives. RIP Sam, where you're going you won't need eyes to see.

Day 8 post-op: Sutures on my throat & breasts removed + drain tubes on my sides finally taken out today! No signs of infections, everything seems to be healing adequately on schedule. After 17 weeks I also finally received confirmation of my legal name change, and my new birth certificate arrived!

Day 5 after surgery. Starting to need painkillers less frequently. Starting to regain some range of movement. Gave myself a sponge bath and dolled up a bit; made a huge difference to my mood. Desperate to get these drain plugs removed and take this damn bra off even for just 10 minutes. Patience...

Squeeked in my 13th laser hair removal treatment of my face/neck just 2 weeks ahead of my surgery. Burns like hell, hopefully this got the remaining darker hairs gone permanently.

Due to some delays caused by my insurance, my surgery was postponed for 3 weeks. But finally, the insurance payment has been issued. Surgery date is locked in: May 19! 🚫 🍎🪚 ✅️ 🍉🍉 A lifetime of waiting. Now it feels all too real.

It occurred to me this past weekend while attempting to prove to a trio of trans friends that I still look "like a man" that I, in fact, do not. 😅 I cannot even boymod effectively anymore. Even attempting my old voice is laughable. I just look like some tomboy who stole her ex-boyfriend's hoody. 😂

Finished my 14th and "final" laser hair removal treatment. Aside from occasional touch-ups, this aspect of my #transition is finally completed. And less than 2 months until my first gender affirming surgeries. A few years ago I never imagined I could get here. Progress is possible with commitment.

Consultation complete! First surgeries scheduled! It feels surreal. Can't believe this is happening soon! But I'm locked in and committed. We go forward; only forward.

Those pre-HRT and early HRT months are ROUGH. But as I and many other trans people will attest; it gets better, you just have to be patient. Things get even better when you put in the hard work to achieve your goals. The journey of becoming who you are is not always easy, but it is rewarding.

Yesterday was officially my 1-year HRT #Tranniversary. It hasn't been easy. But this was something I knew I had to do. I made a promise to my future self to see this through, and I'm 1 year of progress closer. The next 1-2 years will see even more changes and challenges, but I'm ready for them.
