Europhile boomer who appreciates how lucky I am. London accent with Yorkshire twinges, but heart in Galway. Savage cynic, a bit sweary, no prisoners. Tax is the price you pay for a civilised society.
First heard it on this album I bought in 1965 and still have. Look at track list! Probably the best compilation of all time. Fucking Night Train.... and Otis! Google it.
If you like good writing I can recommend this. Probably the most beautiful prose I have ever read. But if you remember Frank that won't surprise you.
I defrosted and cleaned the fridge/freezer by 10am this morning. Windows? Meh! Father's Day not a big deal in this house.
In both the bars, Cos there's no Guards, To take your name and send you home. Enjoy.
Every time people repost his picture the are playing his game, giving him the exposure and the relevance he craves. The associated comments are irrelevant. Look! The comments are dwarfed in the post by the picture.
This is how it works. Until we have effective regulation everything is buggered.
And we wonder why our regulators are as full of shit as our rivers. And what has Labour done to close the revolving doors? Sweet Fuck All! Thanks to @privateeyenews.bsky.social
We lived in Oaklands Grove, next street to Adelaide. My bedroom to centre looking straight on Loftus Road floodlights. Never had a chance!!! Taken last year on nostalgia trip. Sis has grown a bit. See also the Adelaide the same day. No chance of a pint.
@migueldelaney.bsky.social Enjoyed many Liberos this season, but to hear you heaping praise on the Queen Adelaide was the peak. My dad's local and a real Paddy's pub. Outside with dad and sis 1954, waiting for coach to New Eltham to support Pearse Bros GAA hurling team. Memories, pow!
Patricia Neal was 'only' 37 when she won an Oscar for Hud, but boy did she sizzle.
