I have received a lot of questions regarding the immigration enforcement activity on Clara Barton. Here is an update from the county.

For several years, we’ve heard concerns about cars improperly using out of state plates. We changed the law to expand the ability of the Motor Vehicle Administration and law enforcement to issue fines to residents who fail to properly register their vehicles in the state where they primarily reside.
The two month Red Line segment shutdown of Grosvenor, Medical Center, and Bethesda stations—and the tracks in between—will be challenging for drivers and riders. Here is information about the bus shuttles that will be in place during that period.

Polls are about to open and you can vote until 8pm. As I always am when I am on the primary ballot, I will be at North Bethesda Middle School meeting voters and telling them about Sara Love and me. Come say hi if you vote there (or if you are bored).
I am proud to have earned 100% on the Humane World Action Fund scorecard, particularly because many of the scored bills were passed through the committee that I chair. Here are the details: humaneaction.org/media/419
If you are still holding on to your mail-in ballot, do not forget to return it to a drop box by 8pm tomorrow (Tuesday). If you return by postal mail, it has to be postmarked on or before tomorrow. But the safest option is to use a drop box. Here are some drop boxes in and around District 16.

Saturday 06/13/26 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, there will be a mobile crane operation at 5602 Wisconsin Avenue. There will be a SB single lane closure on Wisconsin Avenue between Somerset Terrace and Dorset Avenue.
Early voting is officially open. I will be at the Lawton Center today for a few hours and you can early vote from June 11 to June 18, 7am to 8pm.
On Saturday, we cut the ribbon on Milestones Enrichment Center and expanded childcare options in downtown Bethesda.
Temple Beth Ami hosted a candidate forum for all of the District 16 Delegate candidates (four Democrats and one Republican). It was a good chance to civilly exchange ideas and priorities.
