Important questions were asked…. A three way tie between Oreo, mint chip, and strawberry ice cream triggers ranked choice voting and free samples for all. In the race for dream pet, there is a challenge of voter fraud by a cat supporter so there will be runoff between cats, dogs, and ponies.

So much confetti! OK Go did not disappoint. Definitely get seats in the front if you want to enjoy the full snow globe experience! Just a wholesome, fun, talent-filled night. Love these guys and the community they create around their music.

Things are not always what they seem. This has been a rollercoaster few days. Stay well, Mainers, and don’t eat each other alive. There are lots of legit emotions and questions we are unlikely to get answers to. I’ll keep fighting for progressive values while keeping lookout over my shoulder.

What I find most surprising about this election reporting is that there is a town in ME named “Westmanland.” To be fair, most people have also not heard of Stow, where I live. I am not surprised that a town named Westmanland went for Troy Jackson for gov, though. #MEpolitics

We had over 100 people who were not candidates or campaign staff. And an amazing spread of food and coffee! The event was over 2 hours long with so many candidates so people and especially campaigns had to cycle through to other events but we were quite pleased with the turnout!

Because they run a small independent practice, they must purchase insurance on the individual market. The premiums available to them approach $35k a year for comprehensive coverage for a family of 4. Deductibles would add thousands more. For a small rural practice operating on tight margins, those costs consume an enormous share of income.

In practical terms, 2 physicians who dedicated their lives to caring for others are struggling to insure their own families.

If that sounds like something out of a dystopian novel, it should.

But it is not fiction - it is the lived experience of physicians working on the front lines of health care in Maine.

This article does a great job of breaking down the contrasts between the campaigns of Mills and Platner, with his approach as a bigger movement that is energizing people. There are photos and quotes from our Fryeburg forum and my son is quoted so I’m going to share it, with the expected pushback.

In Fryeburg, high school senior Quintan Flint, 18, of Stow, noted that Platner got the tattoo covered and took ownership of it after he learned about its associations. “This wasn’t like the Trump administration where it’s like, ‘Oh, that never happened,’” he said. As for the Reddit comments, he noted that “everyone says shitty things on Reddit. I say shitty things on Reddit. I mean, it’s Reddit.”
