If someone you know says they were abused, believe them. If someone rich, who you don't know, is saying MDMA hypnotherapy made them remember harrowing abuse, and now they're making tons of money selling their story with Oprah's help, you should have questions. Different situations.

It is definitely A Decision on the part of the admins to have alt text requirements off by default. If they moved it from opt in to opt out, alt text rates would go up.
