I was hanging a new picture over my gas stove today, when it slipped off its nail and crashed down behind the stove. Then I got my big stool out & grabbed my grabber tool. The frame broke, but the picture and glass are ok. Luckily I have an extra frame that size. Fun times!
I slept, finally, and got up at noon. It’s a pretty day out there, warm but not hot. And the fuchsia outside my bedroom is in bloom!
@katyshep.bsky.social Here you go. DJT opted for the classic Greek herald, I guess…
At least you don’t have to find homes for them. When I got to the parking lot after work one night, I spotted this summer squash on a nearby car. Somebody really wanted to pass this one along!
I used to live a few blocks from there. Your photos bring back sweet memories. I am glad it was a healing place for you.
It’s The Water! Tumwater Falls Park. The crumbling Rainier brewery building is just up the hill. The water is as low as I’ve seen it.
Here are a couple of traditional Filipino barong shirts. Very sheer! No pockets, but beautiful embroidery. In the ‘70s in Hawaii, I saw old Tagalog men wearing a short-sleeved version. Not the same, I know, but an interesting take. See more at barongworld.com/collections/...
@katyshep.bsky.social @jackiesalsbury.bsky.social Hula knew a good spot for hot days!
How hot is it in NY? We are gonna have a hot couple of days, with tomorrow’s forecast of 90 being the hottest day, then 81, then 66 and rain! Ah, summer in the PNW! On the other hand, the flowers are in riotous bloom. You can see that the garden is in its purple phase of the season!
It’s a little hard to read, but I saw this when I visited friends who live down the street. They first put drinking water out for dogs because of Panther. I got a tear in my eye, remembering.
Oh I love that! I sure miss Panther. He was an 85 pounder, mostly due to his love of treats!
My current pet peeve is people who think they are important enough to post their verbal views online, but not important enough to get a professional microphone that doesn’t make them look like they’re eating a small, hand-held chocolate bar or bon-bon.
I missed it once I moved here. So, in time, I overhauled the ugly fireplace surround in my current house.
I watched an HGTV show the other night where the contractors went to the Habitat for Humanity store and got new cabinets and backsplash tile for a very reasonable price. Worth checking out. My vintage (solid oak) Seattle fireplace surround came from HforH.
Now THESE are Spooner strawberries! Dark red all the way through; incredibly sweet and flavorful!
