Lovely evening at @waterstonesargyle.bsky.social tonight hearing @silviamg.bsky.social talking about her new novel The Intrigue. The novel sounds fantastic but I'm especially intrigued by the notion of the 'pig pinata' which (hopefully) might appear in a future work.

Hey, look what someone left for me... Well, it was the postman, but he's always good to me. And in today's book post it's my honest to god brand new short story collection. Hand Me Downs is a real book! Thank you everyone at PS Publishing. And cover artist Vince Haig. It's a work of heart.

Pretty much at the stage of ignoring these robotic regurgitations of your published cover blurb when they pop into my Inbox. But had to laugh at this one, given that the book isn't out until next week... Jesus wept.

As Sundays go this one has been spectacular. Started with the fitba, continued with a walk round the park with one of my favourite people, and ended with a fine summer's evening at Kelvingrove in the company of these two bona fide geniuses.

It is... 4.21am in mid June. We're all just out of the pub having watched Scotland absolutely Scotlanding it at the World Cup. It was horrible. Now it's beautiful and clear, and there's a piper out out the street taking requests. And I love this with everything in me.

Sometimes you just need to be given permission to play with your food. Awesome Childhood themed menu at Six By Nico. Delicious and super fun all the way to the jam rolypoly.
