This just came up in my 'memories'. Miah at 1yr old. She was ludicrously fit back then. She's pretty much the same weight now, but definitely not as muscular, and muscle is heavier than fat.

Got a couple of half decent photos of the Grey Dagger moth caterpillars on my apple tree. I'm not concerned, they can have a few leaves, it won't hurt. They're beautiful! I'll have to dig my bridge camera out and get a better shot.

Spotted on the bank of the Esk this morning. I have no idea 🤣 although it could be related to the Common Riding at the end of the month.. Nice use of twigs!

SO pleased with the rowan tree. I think it was less than 6ft when I got it in 2023 and we had to re-seat it in 2024 to bring the root flair up to the surface. Since then it's thrived and at a guess I'd say is around 15ft now. Also sweet peas and the awesome teasel plant, easily 6ft+.

Pleased with how my late dad's ladders are working out. 🥰 The apple tree in the whisky barrel to the left was grown from seeds I harvested from a tree he planted in his garden a few decades ago. No root stock so the apples (if I get any) will be a bit meh. But that's not the point.

The monoblock area of our garden. There are two decorators ladders being utilised as plant shelves up against a cream wall. There are coleus, verbana, ground ivy, bacopa, dianthus and more on them. On one side is a pot of mint, and the other a planter with honeysuckle and a rose bush. Just in shot is a whisky barrel planted with an apple tree, lavender, forget-me-not (in honour of dad) and ivy.

🧵 1. Got sent this brilliant little book today. Very niche, but great if you have sighthounds. Mum had a lot of problems with 'pet vets' in the past. But greyhound vets are few and far between now. Can recommend! Might be in the Whippet Rescue shop in time, hopefully.

Made liver cake for the girls. Whenever I unroll kitchen foil, Nova teleports into the kitchen. At least that's what it feels like... Recipe: 500g liver, 2 eggs, 200g milled oats and a splash of milk. They bloody love it.

That is true. I was pretty distressed to see it, so small and so lovely. They're definitely up the top of my fave small birds list. This is one I managed to get a photo of before we moved to Scotland.

These lupin blooms were blue and purple last year. For some reason it's grown back with yellow 'throats'. I love them!
