Arlen was quite the difficult for his young mother. Unruly, energetic, curious and adventurous. He was always into /something/. The prankster and comedian, he loved attention on him even if it was negative.
Arlen is easily irritated and impulsive. He doesn't take criticism well and will snap back even if he's in the wrong. Edwin however is very composed, it takes a lot to get on his nerves. Edwin's only crash outs were moments where lives of those he cared for were lost and when he faces his father.
I only have two protagonists (as of now, I have an idea for a Warden if I can ever play DAO) and both are "complete" and fully developed but only one has a 30 page doc and an insane amount of lore dropped on my socials... and it's Arlen. SHOCKER I KNOWWW. anyway look at them 😘💚

Arlen prefers to be called his name (or "Amatus" by Dorian) but learned to tolerate "Inquisitor". He heavily disliked being called the "Herald of Andraste". Edwin prefers being called "Rook". He actually introduces himself as "Rook" rather than Edwin. He sometimes uses the surname "Mercar".
Arlen is incredibly rude, he gets better but he's still pretty rude even as he ages. He'll interrupt, make groaning noises, rolls his eyes, sticks his tongue out, burp apologetically and say things out of pocket that may or may not have gotten him in bad situations. 💚
He doesn't cope well at first. He escaped one bad situation only to get thrust into another. He behaved immaturely, non-nonchalant about important tasks, and was essentially a jerk, all to hide the fact he was scared and confused. He felt like a dog forced into a corner.
