Today’s comic is by Hien Pham. He draws his comic with the full gamut of colors, but the majority of his backgrounds in today's comic are in blues with spots of green and other accent colors to make it spring to life. Súr is a sinuous, wiry droid with bluish tinted plates and yellow racing stripes on their body. Their design is sleek and optimized for aerodynamics and to be easily recognized on the racing track. Their lower limbs are reminiscent of prosthetic legs used by amputee athletes. Recently they started to develop a penchant for stickers, which they have several stuck on their plating to decorate themselves. A set of cords dangle from his proffered hand.

Why doctors don’t automatically test you for herpes
OK, clearly herpes is super common. So why don’t doctors automatically test for it when you ask to get “tested for everything?” To answer that question, it’s important to understand the difference between STI testing and STI screening. Testing is done when you have symptoms, whereas screening is done in the absence of symptoms—just to check to see if you’ve been exposed.

Doctors will screen for STIs such as gonorrhea and chlamydia even in the absence of symptoms. This is key from a public health perspective because catching these infections in time can prevent serious complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease. This happens when an untreated STI like gonorrhea or chlamydia infects reproductive organs, possibly leading to infertility.

Experts don’t screen for herpes for a few reasons.

“The U.S. Preventative [Services] Task Force has recommended against screening asymptomatic adolescents and adults for HSV infections. The rationale is that there is no health benefit that’s been proven and there [are] a couple of risks,” Dr. Johnston says. “One is a false positive test, and the second is a risk of anxiety…[Herpes] is not associated with serious health outcomes, yet it’s still feared.”

Even pregnant people who could theoretically risk passing the virus during childbirth are not screened unless they have a history of herpes outbreaks or a current outbreak, Peter Leone, M.D., of UNC’s Institute of Global Health and Infectious Diseases, tells SELF.

Still in a daze with her eyes swirling, Janet replies, "She... she asked me out."

"Yeah, man!" Erika cheers, giving the thumbs up. "Congrats! Haha, about time one of you actually made a move."

Full-on panicking, Janet asks, "What if she wants to kiss? What if she wants to do more? I CAN'T. I need to cancel now before she finds out and runs screaming for the hills."

"Finds out what?" Asks Erika.

"...Finds out I have a-" Janet begins to say, before she is interrupted by an enormous teal blob that lands on her back, forcing her to double over. Narration: As a kid I watched The Last Unicorn a LOT.
A young Jey with long hair is sitting in front of an old CRT TV watching The Last Unicorn. On the screen The Unicorn ponders “What do men know? Because they have seen no unicorns for a while does not mean that we have all vanished. We do not vanish. There has never been a time without unicorns.” The TV scenes are done in a cool blue colour with a static texture overlayed on top.

Jey’s mum pokes her head in with a “!!” and is excited about this development. She flutters around little Jey and says “OH! You’re watching the unicorn movie again? Something CUTE?! Something GIRLY?! Ohhh~ I’m so happy!” much to little Jey’s annoyance. The background behind them has turned from Jey’s usual green to purple with a floral pattern.

Narration: But it wasn’t the unicorn I liked best.
The movie now shows The Unicorn and Schmendrick the Magician walking together. The Unicorn says “You may come with me if you like. Though I wish you’d asked for some other reward for having freed me.”
Schmendrick responds “Well, I thought about it. But you could never have granted my true wish.”

Hien Pham draws in a lushly rendered style that alternates between realistic illustrations and simplified cartoons in textured pencil lines. He uses the full spectrum of colors. He is a Southeast Asian cisgender heavyset man with a short, bushy, black beard, fuzzy body hair, and glasses. He is mostly bald on top, with the rest of his hair pulled back into a bun.

Narration: A couple months ago, I was going through a bout of low body confidence.

We see Hien's bare, hairy legs wobbling as they step into shiny, rumpled, yellow garment with wide brown stripes. A bottle of silicone lube rests at his feet. A sheen of sweat rolls down his arms and legs.

"Do I just step into it?" Asks Hien.

From off-panel, a voice replies, "Yep!"

As Hien pulls the tight shorts up his legs and over his groin, the voice encourages him, still from off-panel, saying, "Slide in, push out, pull up." There is a long zipper descending down between the crotch of the shorts.

Narration: My dear friend Bauzer reached out and offered to put me in his spare latex. He hoped it would help with my body image as it always did for him.

"Pull your arm through!" Bauzer's voice suggests, as his hands come in from off-panel to help hoist Hien's shoulder strap, which has partially pinned his arm against his chest.

"Haha!" Laughs Hien. "I'm trying!"

Narration: I'd never worn latex before, so we met up at a local leather and kink social to give it a shot!

For the first time, we see Bauzer's face as he exclaims with pride, "I expected it to look bigger on you, but... that's actually a really good fit!" He is a bearded man with paler skin and reddy cheeks, a short brown beard, and an undercut with his top hair pulled back into a pompadour-mowhawk. He sports a silver ring through his septum, gold plugs in his earlobes, a heavy duty chain around his neck, and a partially transparent yellow latex top with dark grey accent stripes.

He stands both with pride and still a bit of shyness, admiring his fully donned latex suit. "You think so?" He asks. His suit has wide shoulder straps that plunge into a scooped neck jumpsuit, with one long zipper running from the top center of his neckline down beneath his groin. He sparkles in his spotlight, with just a few drops of nervous sweat emanating off his head.
