137. Love and Rockets - Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven The boys in Love and Rockets (and Tones on Tail, of course) made some of the best psychedelic music of the 80s. "Kundalini Express" on acid is (…I'm told…) quite epic, and many of the songs on this debut would also fit that bill. #vinyl

135 & 136. Jets To Brazil - Perfecting Loneliness Oddly, while I felt that the ORD reissue (the album, not the airport) sounded excellent, I wasn't so fond of the audio here. Didn't sound nearly as dynamic, and I'm not quite sure why. I'll need to listen to this double #vinyl again to be sure. 😄

Jets To Brazil - Orange Rhyming Dictionary A few weeks ago, I joked that I was listening to J2B so I was clearly doing great, mentally. 🥴😄 But that led to the songs getting stuck in my head for the ensuing weeks, and I saw that these re-releases were on sale, so I scooped them up. #vinyl

132. Broken Record - Nothing Moves Me Saw @brokenrecord.bsky.social open for Swervedriver and really loved their set. They have a newer album titled Routine but I wanted the special vinyl of this one. Both are really good, check 'em out. "Denver Stadium Emo • Power Goth Recordings"

131. Little River Band - Greatest Hits "Cool Change" is probably my favorite track on here. Or maybe it's "Reminiscing." But there's like 5 more songs that I remember from late 70s-early 80s MOR radio. Nothing offensive, just cool tunes.

130. Huey Lewis and the News - Sports It's a darn good 80s album. This plus "The Power of Love" in 1985 had Huey & the boys about unstoppable for a few years there. The video for "If This Is It" is still an 80s fave.

129. Cyndi Lauper - She's So Unusual What a great album. The first 6 tracks are straight-up classics: Money Changes Everything Girls Just Want to Have Fun (you know this is a cover, right? 😄) When You Were Mine Time After Time She Bop All Through The Night And she's a class act as well.

128. Kraftwerk - The Telephone Call maxi-single This wasn't the first Kraftwerk I heard, my friend Pete had Autobahn. But this was poppy & 80s enough to capture my teenage ear in 1987. More Kraftwerk to come, but I do love this single. ☺️

127. Leo Kottke I kinda forget now where I heard Leo Kottke first. Such great guitar playing. Saw him open for Lyle Lovett & his Large Band on Mud Island in Memphis in '92. Perfect setting for it. I got way into him after that, my dad already had this #vinyl. Have a listen & enjoy!

126. Klark Kent I mostly knew the music from The Cutting Edge, a show on MTV. "Kinetic Ritual" was the theme song. But when I got to college, this kid on my dorm floor @tcervo.bsky.social had the original #vinyl because he was a big Police-head. We were instant friends. ☺️

125. The New England Conservatory Ragtime Ensemble - Scott Joplin: The Red Back Book I have a few albums of Scott Joplin music, maybe my dad bought them for me because I liked the music so much? But the 2 Joshua Rifkin albums are cracked so I'm throwing them out. This #vinyl, however, is perfect.

124. Billy Joel - Glass Houses Not sure why I skipped over this after 52nd Street. But another great album. I think I mostly like side 1 of 52nd Street but this one has lots of bangers. Plus a memory of listening to it on a field trip next to a river in my mountain town. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"A lot of the tracks are first takes & there are no overdubs" WHAT. Wild. ISRGOWH? is one of the key songs of the 70s. My #vinyl is an 80s repress.

117 & 118. Hum - Inlet As I said elsewhere, I was *thrilled* that I enjoyed 2020's Inlet considering how much time had passed between albums. Maybe not as much as YPAA & DIH but it's still a better album than most bands put out, much less 30 years later. 😄 "Cloud City" is my favorite track.

115 & 116. Hum - Downard Is Heavenward I probably first got this on CD from one of those music clubs, gave it a shot because I liked the first record. As I recall it took me a few listens to get into it but once I did, I really got it. Not a bad song on the album. This pressing includes b-sides.

112. Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers This is one I grabbed from my dad's vinyl collection too, I've had it for…30 years or so? Loved Hound Dog's playing & singing from the moment I heard it. So much joy in these blues. The first Alligator Records release! Wish I'd seen them live.

105 & 106. Dan Fogelberg - The Innocent Age "Same Old Lang Syne" is one of my favorite songs (one of hundreds, to be clear 😄) but I didn't realize it was from this double album. There are 3 other big singles from this set, and I'm cool with them. Dan's quite the songwriter.

103 & 104. Girl Talk - All Day I've mentioned how great this mashup album is. I was surprised to see this on vinyl, but it is and I love it. 😄 My youngest gave me this. If you're into mashups and aren't familiar, definitely get into it.
