@london.gov.uk has called for a ban on social media for under 16’s. But, no use taking away if we don’t protect the space that children need to hang out and develop with their friends. We need better policies that enable child-friendly cities. Streets should be shaped by children’s curiosity. 3/5

Smart phones are affecting parent / child relationships as well as the development of children themselves. At the same time, as more and more kids become distracted by attention addicting devices, their space to interact and play is being reallocated to cars…ever bigger cars. A perfect storm. 2/5

And here they are. It begs the question why TfL needs to put this wardrobe a few metres up the street in the first place (which I don’t think got LEVI funding but worth confirming). We need masterplans for this stuff to avoid this sort of situation and more fuel retailers delivering off road.

On a bus in traffic headed into central London whilst adverts of mega SUVs light up the sky, hosted by Transport for London. With bus speeds at a decade low and kids more likely to be killed by SUVs, should TfL really be enabling this @willnorman.co.uk @sebdance.bsky.social? Bleak. #carspreading

A lack of space for people, carspreading and too much traffic also means that 70% of all people killed or seriously injured in Westminster and the City of London are people walking and cycling. This can be prevented! 6/9

It may be surprising to learn there are no parking controls in the West End in the evening, aka free parking 🤯. Hours of control for paid for parking bays end after 6.30pm. It's no wonder our public squares turn into car parks and you can't walk down the pavements safely... 4/9

It won't be surprising to hear the Congestion Charge operated until 10pm on weeknights there was a marked drop in evening car entries but after this was removed, traffic volumes rose sharply again. Loss of revenue too - particularly sore for Londoners as tube fares increase again this spring... 3/9

We are calling for an action plan to fix traffic in the West End to make it safer, easier and more enjoyable for people to walk around, whilst reducing traffic for those making urgent and time critical journeys. Other major cities thrive by reducing polluting traffic in the centre... 2/9

You’d think London’s roads calm down after work - but after 6pm the West End turns into Wild West, with no congestion charge and few parking controls. @cleancitiescampaign.org analysis shows dramatic increase of cars entering central London in evening 6-7pm (56%+) compared to morning 8-9am... 1/9

The situation could get worse. According to the EU-US trade pact published in August 2025, the EU and US “intend to accept and provide mutual recognition to each other’s standards” for cars, opening the door for the import of more pick ups with lower safety standards. It's no wonder then...4/7

In crashes, pick-up trucks are three times more likely to kill vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and scooter riders) compared to regular cars, according to European data. Registrations of the most commonly-sold pick-up trucks have nearly doubled in just over a decade, with close to 600,000 now on UK roads (Q3 2025), a rise of 92% since 2014. This is leading to parking mayhem and dangerous roads. City leaders must act to discourage these menacing vehicles... 2/7
