I've written him a fair bit now but i still don't feel like i have a firm handle on leofard's speech, it's casual and deceptively rough, but you have to bear in mind that he's also a learned man who was raised by a noblewoman. *and* he's witty, which means i have to try my best to be witty 😑

Leofard:
Well, well. If you ain't the very picture of health, Forename. Savin' the star from complete annihilation didn't tax you overmuch then, eh?

Let me guess─it was naught compared to all the bowin' and scrapin' required of the mercantile genteel. Don't tell me this dandy is what wooed you from the life with sweet nothings of financial comfort?

Several more minutes passed before Leofard turned his head towards Moro’a again. "Say," he said, his voice lowering into something a little softer, though still teasing. "What say you give her a try?"

"Me?” Moro'a's words petered out as he faltered. “I..." This was a first. Borrowing a Redbill airship was one thing; the Raimille was Leofard’s pride and joy, second only to that which he valued most. That he was willing to leave it in his hands was no small offer; an offer not made lightly, no matter how casual Leofard acted about it.

"Come on, reach over. I'll show you." Leofard drummed his fingers against the Raimille’s handles expectantly, leaving Moro’a no choice but to reach forward with his arms. His palms hovered over Leofard's knuckles in awkward suspension, before finally settling on the hyur's hands. His skin was cool, and Moro’a grimaced as he hoped that his palms wouldn’t grow damp with sweat.

Leofard continued as though nothing was wrong. "Now I've flown one of Garlond's ships, and they're smooth, more about stability than anythin' — won't give you any more trouble than what you’ve made for yerself. The Raimille, though…you’ve got to be a touch more precise to get on her good side." To prove his point, Leofard veered to the left, letting Moro’a feel the way the airship responded to his commands, faster and looser than Cid’s manacutters.

Desperately, he tried to focus on that rather than the splay of Leofard’s long fingers underneath his own as they adjusted over the handles.

"And she'll change her speed or angle in moments, if you let her!” The Raimille dipped sharply without warning, sending them in a tilted arc that made Moro’a’s stomach tumble in equal parts fear and exhilaration.

“Arse,” he shouted, and Leofard laughed.

On lodestone click on the dropdown arrow in the grey box containing your character's face/name, privacy settings is listed there. the quickest method is to switch all settings to private, but you can adjust them individually as well. note that you have to do this separately for each character

There are easily 3 different iterations of my attempting to write a "physical intimacy as grounding" fic between moro'a and various characters :V i scrapped all of them, but this one from about 4 years ago was the one i liked the most #kaescribbles #estiwol

"Moro'a."

"I…I'm here."

Radz-at-Han is quiet tonight, save for the gentle swaying of palm fronds and the distant twinkle of a wind chime. Inside, Moro’a’s knees sink into the mattress with a soft creak.

“Try to relax your shoulders,” Moro’a hears Estinien murmur from behind him. He tries, inhaling and exhaling with a shaky breath as he wills himself to unfurl. Danger! his muscles continue to insist. His mind’s clouded with a thick, merciless fog, but beneath the gloom, panic threatens to overthrow what little control he yet retains over his body.

Heat radiates from Estinien’s palms where one touches his back and where the other circles his arm: lifelines to reality. The dragoon has kept his hand on him since the Keeper first stumbled into his room, trembling from his worst nightmare yet.

He's seventeen summers old, shivering as he crawls through the grit of snow and tarmac towards the faint glow of a splintered aetheryte. He's twenty-nine, the smell of cedar thick in his nostrils as screams harmonise with gunfire in a sickening chorus.

Moro’a tries to open his eyes, but all he can see is blood pooling from countless, terribly familiar bodies, made blue by the lonely glow of Camp Broken Glass’s aetheryte. He’s one of them now, thrashing about in his prison to no avail, soul in cold flesh in cold metal that holds him in place even as it denies him—

His eyes snap open as he seizes up, but Estinien catches him, holding him and keeping him from pitching over the side of the bed. After a moment’s hesitation, Estinien draws the smaller man close, not quite embracing him but holding him in both arms.

The elezen sighs, but there’s no trace of exasperation in his voice. “Find aught else to focus on, Moro’a.” A pause, as he seems to consider his next action. Then his fingers bisect Moro’a from neck to shoulder, running over the trio of jagged lines that mark his left shoulder.

“You got these from a dragon?” He hears Estinien ask. Prodding him to answer, but there’s …

Estinien’s body is warm, almost hot surrounding his own. “It was…in the Western Highlands,” Moro’a answers. The words form slowly from his mouth like drizzles of tar as he pushes them through the fog. “We – Haurchefant and I – sighted a group of heretics and pursued them into the Red Rim. The Dravanian caught me by surprise.” His shoulder throbs briefly at the memory, but he can feel his panic reluctantly receding as the image of Camp Riversmeet replaces those of his nightmares. “His name was…I think it was Tohl Kosth,” he adds.

“Mm,” Estinien hums. “Few can claim to have marked the Warrior of Light so notably,” he remarks. As though to emphasise his point, he leans down to kiss Moro’a’s neck, and the Keeper feels his closed, warm lips press against him. The sensation is immediate – real, and it’s Moro’a’s turn to sigh as the elezen leaves more along his neck, settling upon the inner edge of his shoulder.

“More,” he finds himself whispering, almost pleading for those lips to graze his skin. Estinien listens to him without complaint, pressing kisses into his other shoulder, more fervently now. A soft hiss escapes from Moro’a as the elezen adds his tongue, his lips sucking lightly at his flesh. Each kiss chases his freezing visions further away, pulling him back into his own flesh, and somewhere in the warmth Moro’a’s shoulders at last begin to relax.

But Estinien’s moves have sparked a different kind of tension; the tight, pent up coil of energy in him burns, with need, with desire. And so Moro’a turns around, still loosely in Estinien’s arms as he reaches up to kiss the dragoon on the mouth. Estinien makes a surprised noise that’s quickly swallowed by reciprocity, and he wraps his arms tighter around Moro’a, pulling him close as he deepens their kiss.
