The # ChuteFire Air Show in The Yuba River drainage on July 21 . Massive air resources support firefighters building containment lines in treacherous terrain. It is holding today at 84 acres. @calfire.bsky.social
The #MooneyFire in Penn Valley today was stopped at 25 acres . I didn’t get a lot of shots but I can tell you the initial attack was impressive. Cal Fire and the Local Fire agencies stomped on it. One out building was destroyed. @calfire.bsky.social
The Chute Fire near Dobbins is active today . Cal Fire and Local Firefighters are working in treacherous terrain just above the Yuba River. They are using aircraft, dozers and hand crews to suppress it . #Chutefire

The South Yuba River today was running slightly lower than Sunday. This word from the Placer County Sheriffs Office : “At this time, one home remains evacuated, and an evacuation warning remains in effect along the South Yuba River between Donner Pass Road and Cisco Road.” These shots 12/22/25
The valley fog didn’t reach in as far today. It made it up Deer Creek to the dam. The Deer Creek drainage was filled and you could see the valley floor socked in stretching to the Coastal Mountains. This view looks over the Sutter Buttes.
For the last few weeks the valley tule fog has been lingering in the foothills. I thought I would take a look above it here in Penn Valley. This was shot at noon as the fog rolled in thru the Deer Creek Drainage. Yes , I added the sound , don’t want to scare anyone!
