Here I was able to keep it within budget by just modeling and limiting the number of sides to match the thigh's loop number of edges. Plus it's a spiral. If I can't I will sculpt it and bake down + use an alpha map. It's actually how I made it at first but I wasn't satisfied with it.
ported the car I modeled 15 years ago into blender learned a lot about materials and hard surface and also patience since we didn't have gpu real time previews like we do now

polished the @sethra.cc doorman mod with the additional @moogle.tv mob addon recreating the decompiled stuff like the key physics and textures is a bit difficult
