Quite fond of yarn, coffee and books. The exact order may vary.
Ah yes, another Amnesty International pamphlet asking for support as they campaign against brutal human rights abuses in... Trump's USA. Truly the world is in awe of how great he's making it
Please, please can someone explain to me why we are being sold a technology that literally cannot understand the concept of "fact" or "reality" as any kind of reliable tool for anything? Why it is allowed anywhere near education, research, or for that matter customer service?
Me buying all the beading supplies: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!! Me sitting down and realizing I am utterly clueless as to what to do with them: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.
Genuinely think the local strawberries might be the best I've ever had ever. Such a treat when they're finally in season
When women make these exact complaints we're shrill feminazi bitches, but when teenage boys say it, that's a serious sign of how badly society is going wrong and full justification for hero worshipping violent misogynist abusers. God forbid the boys should find growing up confusing.
Fwiw this is my current mix in that tricky spot. I found shade loving daffodils and narcissus (the small ones bloomed earlier), and the periwinkle in the back is also doing very well.
For years I have been reading this bag as "in Teapot we trust". Which is less excusable, but more fun.
Toys. This is the stuff. Carefully brought to me via a visitor of a friend. Switzerland does have the best chocolate, and indeed the best Easter eggs, but it doesn't have the RIGHT Easter eggs. I now do.
So having been using Threadloop.app for a while, with the free version covering all my needs, I realised I now depend on it so much, it's worth paying for premium. And look what a sweet thank you they sent! (By email, not by post, bc that would be ridiculous. But handwritten!)
Crafty satisfaction: shawl blocking on the floor, and pattern pieces cut out for my next sewing project. I dearly love that sense of progress - especially as these are my two least favourite parts (cutting, for sewing, and pinning out, for knitting), so yay for getting them done!
I love how some trees/bushes just wake up one day and declare YES I AM READY TO MAKE SPRING HAPPEN, LET'S DO THIS
Having a happy moment as I realise I've made almost my entire outfit (not the leggings) and I love it all.
Crisp white sugar shell. Thick chocolate layer inside. Perfection. Absolute perfection and I haven't had them for years and I COULD HAVE HAD THEM THIS YEAR but I DON'T Life is awful.
I just saw this - rural (or small cities) only. It would of course be interesting to see one for the cities.
I'm also incredibly sick of people blaming Harris, or more specifically "Harris's brand of feminism", for Trump's victory. The voters chose what they chose. That doesn't mean that a different candidate or a different strategy would have changed the outcome. We just don't know.
I mean, yeah, do we have Trump to "thank" for this turnaround? I guess we do. I guess being aligned with _all that_ was finally too much. I guess that's something. I guess now the question is, how much this writer's position will be reflected in the rest of the paper moving forward.
Anyway so I've dug out some stash that doesn't seem likely to be needed for anything else any time soon, gotten daughter's approval and am holding thumbs this might become the scarf that she will accept as ransom for *my* fave scarf
Week 2 of painting class with my teen. She specializes in gorgeous detail (but never has enough time); I try to make up in enthusiasm what I lack in skill. Fun mother daughter activity, would recommend.
This doesn't feel quite as cool as having been in Ravelry's first 2,500, I have to say. (And of course *at the time* I thought I was so late to the party...)
Oh @kateatherley.bsky.social ... Are you feeling strong? Would you like a little blood pressure boost to make you feel alive? Please enjoy this little treat - from a pattern in a LEARN TO KNIT book...
"Thanks for a great event, guys, super well organized! I almost went blind but it's all good! Love you!" Be the digital monkey picture. See no evil. See nothing at all.
Go home, capitalism, you're drunk. Hikers do not need a Design Edition cream cleaner to achieve a Clean Switzerland. Your desperation is showing.
