I finally got my shit together to enter a couple categories in my town's flower/veggie show this weekend - my flowers got 3rd place (out of 3 entries lol - it's my first try!) and my cherry tomatoes got 2nd! 🙌 yall I feel very proud, actually 🥹

A predominantly pink arranged flower design in the Japanese moribana style. It features a large, foofy pink hydrangea; pink muppet-like globe amaranth; and Japanese painted fern, all grown by me! They are held in place with a pin holder and are positioned to one side in a clear, shallow glass dish, showing most of the water. Two index cards describe the design and a white, 3rd place ribbon is there! A judge's comment on a post-it note reads: "follows the moribana design well."

The photo is sideways - sorry! It's 5 orange, sun gold cherry ttomatoes on a small, white paper plate. A small card describes the variety of veggies. A red, 2nd place ribbon is there!

Just reading up on what exactly is required to pull off a nuclear weapons launch in the US and, well...

Journalist Ron Rosenbaum has pointed out that, once the order is issued, the process is entirely concerned with authenticating the identity of the commanding officers and the authenticity of the order, and there are no safeguards to verify that the order or the person issuing it is actually sane.[3] Notably, Major Harold Hering was discharged from the Air Force for asking the question, "How can I know that an order I receive to launch my missiles came from a sane President?"[3]

The two-person rule only applies in the missile silos and submarines; there is no check on the US president's sole authority to order a nuclear launch.[4]
