I distinctly remember a point when I thought to myself, ‘Oh I’ll never cosplay Gale’s camp outfit, with all that embroidery….’ 😅 Anyway, I saw a post talking about how GenAI has become a plague in the embroidery world, with so many fake projects/patterns, and it made me angry.

Gale has gotten an upgrade with new boots! I decided to treat myself as a belated birthday gift to some Armstreet boots, and then promptly took them apart to modify them 🤣 Changed the shape a little, re-did all the tabs/lacing, added some contrast colour.

I know a character is particularly meaningful to me when I actually WANT to take the time to add details like this. Literally none of this will be seen under the final outfit layers, but it's stitched with devotion and brings me joy.

Camp Gale is done and I finally got to wear him today at Katsucon!! I actually gasped a little when I saw the full look in the mirror, complete with makeup transformation. The endless hours of embroidery were absolutely worth it!

My two Gale outfits for day one of Katsucon! Wandered around for a bit as OG Gale, and then donned my own ‘celestial Gale’ design and took (briefly) to the stage for the Cosplay Met Gala. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on and came over afterward to compliment the design, it was so gratifying!
