Saw this ad for the local No Frills/Loblaws grocery store, asking people to mascot, WITHOUT PAY, to shill products for one of the most hated companies in Canada.

Text from Facebook... the No Frills grocery store (on Southdale Road in London, Ontario) is asking for volunteers to be one of their mascots at a London Majors baseball game. Loblaws' revenue was $16.38 BILLION last year.

And the current ones are never on sale, but I'm glad you have at least one book (and a cute Steiff :) The book you have reprints comic strips around 1950. There are also sets that reprint his Animal Comics work (mid 40s), and one that reprints his Pogo comic book work (early/mid 50s).

Eclipse book from 1992 reprinting an Animal Comics story from around 1945.
No biting satire found here, unlike his later Pogo work.

Didn't know about that, I thought it was merely for children. It sounds like the Pogo comic strips which, unless you know what was happening in Washington in the 1950s-70s, lose some of its impact.
