Playing with the dialog system in this little #IndieGame . Ended up making ANOTHER stage feature along the way. Instead of going into detail I'll let our new #pixelart best friend talk about it.
When I started this #IndieGame I kept putting off this feature because: 1. didn't know if I could code it 2 too much #pixelart bubble gum ... looks like I'm all out of bubble gum. Stay to the end to see the new #GameDev item/ability! #screenshotSaturday
For today's #screenshotSaturday a special fan piece for @bathorygame.bsky.social Go check out their #pixelart indie game! It's looking really cool. Wishlist and give them that #GameDev love! store.steampowered.com/app/4670880/...
Staying "cool" with this improved #GameDev item! The camera can freeze some enemies which can also be used as platforms. The new #pixelart flying skulls help demo for #screenshotSaturday! Shattering a frozen enemy feels great when combined with the downward strike from last #IndieGame post.
A day a head of #screenshotSaturday! Originally my little #IndieGame wasn't going to have an 8 way attack despite having all the #pixelart ready. Turns out updating my code wasn't as hard as I thought and I do feel it plays a lot nice because of it. #GameDev
A second #screenshotSaturday post! This time it's to show off the new #pixelart AIR Dash VFX. It's nice to see the progression of the dash ability and to make sure the arcade checkpoint is working as intended. #GameDev I still don't like the BG but thought it was better then nothing #IndieGame
A proper #screenshotSaturday post! The #pixelart arcade is this games check point. I probably should be working on more important #GameDev features instead of the amount of frames put in... ... but this ones "for me". It's inspired by a particular machine. Any guesses #IndieGame community?
Yech! There are two #pixelart environments and I'm not in love with ether... This is real #GameDev trouble when something doesn't "feel" right. I'll probably jump to another part of my #IndieGame so I don't lose steam and make a new third version.
Two more #pixelart enemies are ready to cause some #GameDev trouble. "Sweet Hive" sends out a high or low swam volley that comes back after a short time. The new skeleton must be struck from the back to do damage. Luckily our #IndieGame hero has the blink dash ability unlocked #screenshotSaturday
There’s still some parts I want to fix up, but here’s my progress on a goofy #Zelda Game and Watch sketch. Inspired by the Eureka decorations @christinarose.bsky.social was showing off
Some #GameDev refinement. New #pixelart chain attached to the Censer for better visual appeal when it gets upgraded. Also two new upgrades to the #IndieGame slide ability. #1 it can now be upgraded to be done in the air! #2 it can be FURTHER upgraded to pass through hazards! #screenshotSaturday
Ok this discussion inspired me! I moded my #pixelart "Party ghost" that normally just floats and throws up above you. I give you the Boo Barf Trap! #IndieGame
I agree with you both, but on paper both those ideas are great. If you could hammer the blockages with your buster, I would be an instant fix! Heck, it might be more fun that way Doc Robots are also fun in concept and they did a WAY better version with the Weapons Archive Concept A+ Execution D-
Stepping back into #GameDev after a short break. You get to see some new #pixelart enemies in time for #screenshotSaturday Too bad one of the new guys doesn't know when to quit... #IndieGame
I can't believe I was able to get all my #GameDev stage gimmicks working. There's even some really nice dynamics between my mud and conveyor belts that's sparked some new ideas! #screenshotSaturday Now I can turn all this temp #pixelart into something beautiful! #IndieGame
The highlight of today was going through Guelph’s small but welcoming #Pride in the park.
A new stage element a day late for #screenshotSaturdayand! These temp #pixelart platforms are held up by breakable blocks. Just make sure you don't cause them to fall on top of you! Some fun #GameDev level designs in store with this stage gimmick. #IndieGame
“Don't get cocky, it's gonna get rocky, We gonna move down to the next ya jockey”
Here's that cut scene just in time for #screenshotSaturdayand! This is also the introduction to a VERY special #pixelart NPC! Still finalizing the name but this clumsy rebel is always going to beat of their own drum #GameDev #IndieGame
There's a cut scene and a VERY special #pixelart visual element missing. I wanted to have the boss during the stage but wanted the boss to feature in the main stage as part of my #GameDev concept. #IndieGame #screenshotSaturday
Thanks for updating the sprite folder! I have a new favorite image and it's "NICE!"
Yep! I wanted the main action to be melee with the charging from Mega Man 4. You can’t move while charging so there’s some risk/reward to it. The actual item is a sensor/ brazier
