Acheronian Carcosa (it is like Mythic Bastionland but with King in Yellow instead of King Arthur. Although, given that Carcosa is about shared delusion and murderous nostalgia becoming reality, I am no longer sure King Arthur _isn't_ King in Yellow, given what his legend had become)

Original illustrations in Corgi books are also amazing Leo Hartas (books 1, 2, 3, 4), Bob Harvey (books 1, 2, 4, 5) Jeremy Ford (book 2) and Geoff Wingate (books 5 and 6) For example, this is Hydra from book 1, I think.

Somebody (sorry, I forgot who) said (not a precise quote) that "bullets vs text" argument could be won by making a beautiful adventure in a preferred style. It isn't beautiful and I don't mean to win anything over anybody, but this is what it is for me.

This is an example (the amount isn't final) of what error I get. I input the amount, my email (blackened out here) and press 'Donate by Card' button, and it gives me that error. It doesn't even go to stage of asking CC details. Again, I've tried it on 5 different browsers, with all adblockers off.

On less budget-friendly series, if you are not averse of buying USA things, Daniel Smith is kind of hard to ignore. They have huge range and mostly very lightfast. They paints tend to have more than usual granulating variants and/or mixes then other series. Their Primatek is hyped too much, I think.

(But their pans might be a bit sticky in humid environment.) Turner is sort of my secret treasure. As it is sold here the series here is somehow priced on level of Shinhan but handles better. There are some weird mixes in it and please avoid colours starting with "Maya", so it is pick and chose.

Shinhan Professional Watercolours (PWC only, they have other series, IMHO not as good). I only had tubes but I panned the tubes without any problems. They are very easy to paint with, very vibrant and easy to handle. BUT one need to chose paints carefully as there is a lot of non-lightfast paints.

(All series have a couple of fugitive pigments, so I don't mention things like Opera Pink and genuine alizarin) Van Gogh (in half-pan form only, as tubes are tricky). Their paints are usually lightfast, non-toxic and affordable, with good range. They are broadly comparable to Cotman in vibrancy.

I made this painting while having a long wait in hospital today. While it is messy and unfinished (and kind of weird in general), maybe it will be of some help against inhumanity of the day. (nothing more than that)

Finished the hexmap yesterday but it was too late to photograph it, so I made another one. Sorry for the strong side sunlight, which makes the paper appear too textured. With thanks to @idraluna-archives.bsky.social, @ktrey.bsky.social, and @save.vs.totalpartykill.ca who were kind to the first one.

I needed small hexmap for a small dreamland today and didn't have Hexkit installed on my phne but had my paints at hand. (turns out to make hexmaps is much easier than to make a usual maps because there is no need to care about terrain and colour coherency, perspective, overlays and so on)

Here is a rose for you. I've met it today and it had a wonderful scent and colour. Maybe it will be helpful to you as well, even as a picture.
