A fun benefit of writing serialized fiction with comments turned on is it lets you meet your readers where they are. (I’m writing under the pen name “Opaque Dragon” for reasons that are not entirely clear to me. Ba-Dum Tiss.)

For reasons I can’t fathom, Reddit occasionally sends me articles it thinks I want to read from the Claude AI forum. It’s all the worst humans on earth, obviously. But a post today really stood out. Guy tried to voice a complaint to the company’s chatbot. Perfect no notes etc etc

Dipshit AI dork using software that is meant to eliminate human jobs by replacing people with shittier machine versions is stuck talking to that software’s chatbot when he asks for help, and told no humans are available.

AI sucks.

I’ve heard great things about the ping pong movie, but the most impressive acting that Timothee Chalamet ever put on screen is in Bones and All where he had to pretend that KISS is good.

The first of this October’s supernatural puzzle-filled events — written by me (and @twocookiesandacoke.bsky.social!) — has been announced! The Seattle MoPop museum’s annual Fashionably Undead event this year is — THE GOOPENING. A tribute to 80s demonic horror films, one of my favorite subgenres.

A cool piece of history I recently found: This Trailblazers trash can was made in 1969, the inaugural year of Portland joining the NBA. Did I pay too much for it? I mean, yeah, it’s a 55 year old metal bucket. Still works great, though.

It is the cover of an in-game ‘zine called “Shaft,” written by the Ranger, Fenzo.

Fans praise the ‘zine for its content and art, although many find its competitor “Just the Tips,” a better value for the price.

I’m a firm believer that few places are better for fostering community than indie theaters. So grateful for venues like Portland’s Cinemagic, which flew in the amazing scream queen Caroline “Stretch” Williams for a screening of Leprechaun 3. Got my Texas Chainsaw board game signed, too!
