Things I was not expecting to catch on the wildlife camera overnight: a sparrowhawk munching on a blackbird just after sunrise. There’s nothing left now bar a pile of feathers. @rspb.bsky.social @wildlifebcn.org
A good question! Various Montano commentaries printed by Plantin, 1570s and 80s. They're are bound up with an armorial and monogram that I haven't yet identified.
Any #MedievalSky or #SkyStorian pals care to cast an eye at these binding fragments and suggest a date/location? I've narrowed it down to caroline minuscule but that's the extent of my expertise.

We had enough for me to get excited and wander round the garden barefoot for about 3 minutes but all it’s actually done is make the humidity go up to 85%. Well may you make the sad face, little thermometer.
Grass left for a couple of months- still green, with bonus self heal, clover, lady’s bedstraw, knapweed, ragwort and ox-eye daisy. Earlier in the year, cowslips and violets and vetch and miles of cow parsley. And a common spotted orchid. Why turn this into a sterile bowling green?

Spot this pretty moth in the garden, snap its portrait. Oh. Turns out to be Cydalima Perspectalis, an invasive species that destroys box plants and the RHS is asking for reports of when it’s spotted to track its spread. @savebutterflies.bsky.social
Called up a little spotter book to see if I want to get one for summer holiday in France. Turns out that of all the possible road signs in the whole country, they've used one that has the village we're staying in. Incroyable! I wonder if that scores double points?

There's a "what would you do with a pot of gold?" survey outside the paeds ward 15yo is currently in and I think we can agree that the kids have some excellent ideas.
Some beautiful street art in Leeds today. Especially lovely how the border emphasises the slope of the hill, and the smiley faces in the beige fan design, and the happy little heart in the blue part at the top 💙
