Fran walks home, feeling on edge, some of the people she passes by seem too chatty, too rushed. She should be used to this by now, the Purge has been going on for five years. She pushes the button for the crosswalk she's too in her head and she's just about to cross when a hand grabs her elbow pulling her back as an oversized truck speeds by spewing exhaust.

Fran's heart races a mile a minute and she turns back to find her savior.
