Trans people want the same thing as everyone else, to live their lives free from prejudice, discrimination and violence. Instead, this guidance will legitimise intrusive questioning, encourage suspicion and make everyday life less safe. The government should scrap this guidance.

Last week I had the great privilege to join meetings & performances with The Welcoming, Refuweegee & the Ukrainian community in Edinburgh during Refugee Week. Conversations were both tough & joyful, celebrating incredible contributions refugees make, but also recognising some of the huge challenges

Me and @satwatr.bsky.social joined the thousands strong anti-racist crowd at Glasgow's Buchanan Street Steps yesterday. We vastly outnumbered the fascists, but one Nazi is too many Nazis. Fascists are not welcome in our streets.

Migrant care workers keep Scotland’s social care system running. Earlier this week, I was proud to stand in solidarity with @unison.org.uk and care workers protesting at Parliament against the cruel visa changes that would leave families in limbo after building their lives here.

To everyone feeling scared after the racist violence we saw across Scotland: you are loved, valued and you belong here. Condemnation is not enough. Communities affected by racism and racist violence must be listened to, supported and centred in our responses.
