Cars parked on pavements, on double yellow lines and generally abandoned at school pick up time. No traffic enforcement officers ever seen. Typical day outside local school less than 50m away and 70m from National Cycle Network

@curlewaction.bsky.social I was up on Llyn Aled Uchaf this evening watching the ospreys fishing. I saw one of your signs. I then noticed 8 sheep making their way to what might be a curlew nest the way the birds were behaving. Are sheep supposed to be excluded from this area?

New wetland complete. What a journey it’s been. Thank you EA, Staffs Wildlife Trust, Forest of Mercia, Horsfall Environmental Services and Bilbrook Parish Council.

Aerial shot of 30m buffer strip along water course containing many ephemeral ponds, scrapes and complex habitat. Large woody debris introduced to water channel. Massive contrast between this area and the neighbouring field which is grazed by cattle and devoid of all life except grass!

So excited to be part of the amazing transformation of Cwm Doethïe in the sheepwrecked Cambrian Mountains. Hopefully what #tirnatur are doing will inspire neighbours to do the same. What’s even more exciting is that I walked past my 3x3m spot about 12 years ago. What a coincidence!

I reported this to my local South Staffs Council and fair play to them, it was cleaned within the week. Trying to get the vegetation cut back to reveal the path to its full width but that’s a different story.

Every bright spec a tiny piece of plastic. There must be millions of pieces on this field alone. Multiply that by the thousands of fields this ‘soil improver’ is spread over & you get some idea of the extent of this problem no one is talking about. I have more pictures & first hand account

@drdavidgk.bsky.social would you be interested in this story? This is the widespread covering of microplastics all over the fields of England. Mixed with compost from domestic green waste bins. It’s a national scandal & completely legal. This was filmed on a National Nature Reserve in Staffordshire

On #WorldWetlandsDay I thought I would share some pictures of wetland creation my group has done in South Staffordshire I’m very proud of the collaboration between local land owners, EA, Wildlife Trust and other CICs to create this little oasis. More work planned next month.

Our newly created wetland in South Staffordshire. In what was intensively grazed land. You can see the area where the cattle still graze and have access to the Brook. Cattle pumps now installed and access to the brook will be denied. More work planned next month.

right next to a National Nature Reserve in Staffordshire. Pasture for cows which will no doubt eat the small plastic fragments. Repeated all over England.
