May I ask what you’re expect to see at a Torquay Comic Con? The Death Star perhaps? The USS Enterprise? Heards of sandworms burrowing majestically? I expect to see the Sea Devils. You can see the Sea Devils, they’re over there between the Ice Warriors and the Ood.

Just finished reading 'Sex and Other Changes' by David Nobbs (of 'Reginald Perrin' fame) - a comic novel about a husband and wife who both want to transition, written back in 2004. I did worry if it aged badly, but it's funny, moving & sympathetic. Would like to know if trans people today like it.

Just started reading ‘Sex and Other Matters’ by David Nobbs (of ‘Reginald Perrin’ fame). Written in 2004, it’s a comic novel about a married couple where both husband & wife want to have a sex change. Interesting to see how this novel feels now given the rise of trans rights and attacks on it since.
Hang on, the Daily Mail is writing stories ATTACKING fascism? Having said that, I suspect it’s because it’s the wrong kind of fascism, and they only want Farage’s type.

Taskmaster fans might be interested to know that yesterday's episode is not the first time people have jousted with mops. The 1971 BS Johnson novel 'House Mother Normal' also featured it, as seen on this cover, but with dirty mops and being played by abused elderly people in a care home.

Just listened to the album ‘9’ by Satanic metal band Mercyful Fate - turns out 9 is a Satanic number, repeatedly used in Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible, plus 666 is divisible by 9, and then you have 9 circles in Hell. Feels like the beginnings of a plot for an Inside No. 9 episode that never got made.
